Friday Vitamin ME

Happy Friday! It has been a month since I posted I know, but this month was all about soaking up vitamin me right?  :-)  Well I soaked up a lot of a few things. Even avoided the computer this month. GASP! I know right, but the time was spent very well with a few things so I will share a few of them.

Games, games and more games! The new uniforms came in and they look AWESOME! This is both the boys at one of the games. This season has been strange for positions but normally they are left field, first base and then pitching/catching. Depends on who else is pitching etc. Here is one game where Curtis pitched and Nathan was catcher. What a cool picture huh?!? I have one where I focused on Nathan and then one where Curtis was in focus the opposite. Doing well with the new camera too.  :-)  The season is going awesome and only a few more games before we hit the play off's. SQUEEL!!! The last few double headers have been in beautiful weather thankfully.

One of the new books I had bought and read in 3 days. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I really enjoyed this book. Read a few books on the Kindle also by Robin Jones Gunn. Thought I would give the kindle a try and I have to say an actual book is better. However sometimes having that instant book in the hand to read verses waiting for it even 2 day mail is kinda nice. hee hee  Either way a few books read which was GREAT.
Repainted the main bathroom and installed different hooks. A few things got done in the yard. Trying to figure out what to plant since my Azalea plant died. Sniff sniff.... I think I will do another Peony bush since I like those so much and they seem to last. Doesn't sound like a lot but it sure has been nice and now I am read to get some inky fingers going again. Hopefully you all have been enjoying your Vitamin ME challenge this month. Thanks for stopping by.

Vitamin ME sure sounds good

Good morning. Yes, it has been several weeks since I have posted anything or stamped for that matter. The Power Poppy Power and Spark challenge this month is exactly what I have been working on the last few weeks. Check it out....

HOW TO PLAY: Recently on the Power Poppy newsletter, Ms. Marce shared just how important it is -- for our health, our vitality, our ability to do for others -- to soak up some "me" time and slow down to enjoy life's moments. So, this month's challenge isn't about making a card, following a sketch, or using a certain color palette. It's about YOU. Let's hear what Marcy has to say....

Hi, everybody! This month, I encourage you to reflect, revive, and rejuvenate your very being. I call it “soaking up Vitamin ME!” It is so important to fill your soul with the things that bring you peace, joy, and energy. Whether it’s exercise, prayer or meditation, time spent outdoors, time doing activities you love, taking a bubble bath — what fills you up with a renewed sense of purpose? LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS BLOG POST about what YOU will do to care for yourself this month! One comment will be randomly selected to win a $50 gift code to spend at Power Poppy. If you’d like to post a card that celebrates how you get your Vitamin ME, we have a link for that, too! xoxoxoxo and I am so proud of you for getting your Vitamin ME. ~marcella

This challenge is exactly what I have been working on the last month. Some of it has been voluntary and some of it not so much but that just means it was higher priority and I wasn't aware. In one of my last posts I had shared that my new books had arrived and I was going to spend sometime enjoying catching up on some new books. That was my goal and I did get in one of them before the onslaught of baseball games started. You might not think that is Vitamin ME, but anytime with my boys is vitamin for my soul. Especially now that they are only two years from graduation. The time is flying... practically running by us John said. Wishing I could slow time down for these last few years. Here is a picture of one at bat. They are varsity this year and doing AWESOME! The new jerseys will be in this week, woot woot! We signed them up to take some college level classes through Running Start this week and that sure did put the focus on what time is left with them. Exciting and sad all at the same time.

Another thing I have been working on for me is going to the gym and making sure I am healthier as I get older. The beloved saying "over 40" is causing me to lose weight at a much slower pace than before. Can't change the years but I can make sure to work harder at it now. I can say enjoy it more! Going to the gym was always a hit or miss but lately I go at least 4-5 times a week and ENJOY going. Have lost 9 pounds since Dec 1st and can say that I WANT to go each night, late in the evening or not I go and enjoy it. After I feel good!

For Christmas my husband bought me a new camera and some lens to play with. What a learning curve that has been and thank you for baring with me and my photo's. Now that the weather is trying to turn to spring I have had some springy shots to try. Here is our large Cherry Blossom tree out front, at least I think its a cherry blossom tree. I am working on different focus on the camera for these. Lots to learn, lots to learn but so fun.

So boys, books, baseball and trying to learn a new hobby with photos has been my vitamin me lately. I mentioned a involuntary focus as of late and that is our fur baby Ranger. He gave us a big scare 3 weeks ago. It was a very long weekend and we are thankful to say he is fine now and all is well. Not a weekend I want to have again anytime at all. Couldn't get a picture of that rascal to post up so I will share an older one with you. He is the fur baby of my life and he makes me HAPPY! He is winking at you in this one, heck I still have my braces on in this picture. ha!

As I try to get around to coloring more and maybe even some blog hopping I would like to hear what your Vitamin ME is. So share and post on the Power and Spark Vitamin ME thread on the PP Blog.

ODBD Anniversary Release

Happy Sunday! ODBD is celebrating 10 years and asked a few of the previous designers to join in on the celebration. What fun! I will be sharing two creations with you today to celebrate. Be sure to check out the ODBD Blog for all the new sets, other creations and all the fun.

My first card is using the stamp set God Quotes 2 and the new Fancy Circles Dies. Check out the colors from the paper pack By the Shore collection. Oh I do like these colors together. I have all the details on the cards below as well. This one has some of the added die cut flowers and pearl centers with some sequins for accents.

My second card is a 5x5 square card one of my favorite sizes. My sentiment is from the God Quotes 2 again and then I did a little shadow stamp of the flip flops from the set Walk with Jesus to match the designer paper. Some piercing around the edge of the base layers to match the die square behind Fancy Circles. A few large jewels for the sides and voila!

Be sure to check out the ODBD Blog for more creations, links and fun!

Columbine Friday

Happy Friday! Hopefully you are ready for the weekend and have some relaxing planned. Not so much at our house but that is totally fine. Did have sometime to get a creation done with the newest Instant Garden digi called Cup of Columbine. What a beautiful array of flowers and so different in colors, I went ahead and google them. I choose to work with purple and a darker red for today's card. Marcy has notes and inspiration on the Power Poppy Blog for you to check out as well.

This is rather easy peasy since time has been limited, but what is knew? ha ha!  I have colored these beautiful blooms with various Copic markers and then rounded the corners of the image panel. Added a heart die cut to the base and some scrap designer paper that matches the colors of the blooms. A few sequins added and some sparkle to the red blooms. Voila!

Beautiful bouquet

Morning. These wonderful blooms are called Pure Prairie Bouquet.  This is a rather vibrant and colorful array of flowers so I tried to re-create the idea in my head using the Prisma Colored pencils. Yes I am addicted to these and need practice.  :-)  I think the blue flowers are my favorite but you knew that already didn't you? hee hee

I have the stamp set but used the digi for this as it was in my printed stack that I am trying to twindle down a bit. The only accent I have here is the little scallop border to the left and some sequins. The green background paper was suppose to draw out the leaves and stems but not sure I accomplished that quite right. Oh well... Live and you learn right.  I hope you have a GREAT day today! Thanks for stopping by.

Penciled Orchids cascading

Morning. So yes I have been going a little crazy with the colored pencils I know, but I need a lot of work still. And the only way to get it right is to keep coloring and trying, right? Yet another one using the Prisma colored pencils and the new Instant Garden release called Orchid Cascade

I made a mistake when I had this printed as I thought it was kraft card stock, but in fact it was chocolate. EEK! Well why not give it a try? The colors turn out more vibrant on the chocolate paper verses the kraft isn't that interesting.
Using one of the sentiments in the digi and just moved it over to be under the petals a little bit. A few sequins for accents and voila! Thanks for stopping by today.
