FS439 Asters Abuzz

Good morning! This weeks Featured Stamper 439 is Jo Ann aka Sinclair. This girl likes easel fold cards I can tell right now.  ;-) I choose this 60th birthday card to case. I kept with flowers, similar colors, gilding, square and decorative shape. Changed the flower, gold instead of silver gilding, some colors and added a button and gold cord.
Hope you can play along!

My case was perfect to show off the new Asters Abuzz digi from Power Poppy today. Marcy has some wonderful inspiration behind this new digi over on the PP Blog. Be sure to check it out. Instead of the silver gilding mine is gold using the fabulous new gold krylon pen that my sweet friend Katie sent me. I was trying to think like Katie when I was using this and well, I need more practice as you can see. hee hee  The flowers are colored with various Copic markers. Some gold jewels for accent and a Spellbinders scalloped edge for the base. This beautiful Heart and Soul Collection was perfect for the background base and inside of the card you see below. Isn't this sentiment so sweet?

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!!

Woot woot!!!  Hopefully you have a safe and fun day planned with family and friends as we celebrate America today!  Honestly in light of the news and things going on around us, a little celebration in remembering our roots and what this country was founded upon sounds like a good idea to me. Ignore all the rest for one day!  ;-)

You had to know that these guys were coming out today. This is Patriotic Mouses are now through Stampendous called Star Spangled Mice? They are stamped onto white card stock and colored with Copic markers. Added a few stars die cut using ODBD Sparkling Stars Dies. The fun filled Patriotic Collection paper was calling my name with these guys for the background. A few sequins and added sparkles and voila! Have a wonderful day!

Hang some paper with Lilac Time

Happy Friday and welcome to the new Power and Spark challenge over at Power Poppy! This months host is our fabulous Leslie! The challenge this month is to Hang Some Paper! Check out the PP Blog for all the details and to LINK up your creations for a chance to win a prize! Hope you get to play along.

Lilac time was the first set that I thought of when Leslie mentioned the challenge. Leslie has such a talent with mixing papers and bringing out the best in them. Where I on the other hand, bring out the "what is she thinking" in papers. ha!!!  These papers are what I wanted to work with and the idea in my head sorta came together on this card. Yet.... not at the same time if that is possible? Anyways, basic card today. The image is colored with various Copic markers. A simple scored border around the edges then popped up on dimensionals. Added a Spellbinders Bracket edge to the bottom and some sparkles and voila!

Christmas in my neck of the woods

Honestly right now I could do with some snow or cold weather. Another high heat day with 105 high. EEK!!!  Great day to stay indoors, stamp and play games with the kids.  ;-)  This months July Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge is "Your neck of the woods". Hopefully you can play along and share a creation.

Christmas here pretty much the same every year with cold weather, snow and school delays. ha ha!!!  We are actually about an hour or two away from cutting down our very own Christmas tree if we wanted. Something that we plan to do this year or next year. Otherwise they cut them and bring them into us like most areas.
My darling image is from Whiff Of Joy and I believe is still available in Digital format called Christmas Tree Hunt. A simple kraft card stock base die cut with a Spellbinders die. Wrapped a little bit of ribbon and lace trim around the designer paper panel. Added sparkles and some sequins accents and voila! Have a wonderful day!

Exciting things happening in July

July is gonna be full of some surpises and excitement! One that I can share with you now, is from Power Poppy!

Did you see the latest newsletter? If not, keep reading and be sure to sign up so you get all the newsletters.

You asked for it, and sweet stamping friends, YOU GOT IT! When Power Poppy first began unveiling the florals that make up the Instant Garden, some of you audibly squealed (we could hear you through the internet, yes!) But you needed more for your flower-coloring fix. You shouted in emails (as in ALL CAPS) that you wanted, you needed, you HAD TO HAVE MORE! Okay! Okay! We hear you! We love each and every one of those sweet blossoms and questioning whether we should add more was kind of like asking, “Do you really love chocolate?” Um, yes. So, without further ado, we’ll be serving up a fun, fresh remix of Marcella Hawley’s illustrations and sentiments on the 5’s of every month – the 5th, the 15th and the 25th! All you need to do is sit back and watch these lovelies sprout! (And then download, print and create with them yourself of course!) Our first release will be THIS SUNDAY, JULY 5TH! So, get ready for the digital buzz!

Pencil me in Jeremiah

Happy Friday! Over at Power Poppy we are still playing with our Pencils in the Pencil Me In Challenge. All the details can be found HERE on the PP Blog.

Now I have to admit that colored pencils and me are not a usual medium as they are typically a softer shade and I like the bold and bright. However today the new Garden Fireworks was perfect for some softer colors or at least as soft as I can get. hee hee

My Garden Fireworks are colored with non other than the Crayola Pencils that I have on the desk. yep... good ole Crayola never lets me down. That and the fact I can't seem to find the few Prisma Color Pencils I have. They are lost in this room, which means I probably need to clean it up a bit. EEK.. Anyways, that is another story. The inside of my card is using the Scripture that comes with the digi and a family favorite Jeremiah 29:11. Below is the inside of my card. Voila!
