Sweet sock valentine

Good morning. Today's card is using Va Va Valentine for a special request from someone using these adorable socks. Since it is for a girl I knew I wanted to use some extra hearts and lots of sparkle. The heart background panel is a retired Die-Light no longer available but was going to be perfect for the base behind the socks.

The designer paper was my color choices for the card. I added some faux stitching along the border and added to the base. A die cut flourished leaf and some die cut hearts for the side. Sequins and sparkle to finish it off, Voila! I adore how this turned out especially since I know she is going to love it.  Thanks for stopping by.

Pink Pansies anyone?

~~Happy Friday~~
Lot's going on at Power Poppy. Did you see the new Hues to Use challenge and the excitement? You didn't? Well be sure to check out this post HERE and see if you will be the next Guest Designer. GASP! That's right, check out the Hues to Use, play along and see if its YOU! Not to mention we still have our June Bug challenge going on and your chance to win some Power Poppy bucks! Now for my card....

These Pansies were sitting on the desk from a few weeks back and looked perfect to color for today. Their are some really pretty pink versions of this flower in real life down the road from my MIL house so I went with pink today. Found some pink designer paper in my scrap bin to match and layered it onto the base of the card. The pansies panel has some piercing down the edge that I matched to the edge on the base and the sentiment tag. A few scattered brads and some sparkle. Voila!

Birthday Tulips

Good morning! Did you enjoy the sneak peeks that Power Poppy had the last 5 days. That was a great release and I hope you check it out if you missed any of the stamps being released.
My creation today is using another retired set that I dusted off from CDS that is now closed. Digging through my old stamps sure has been a joy to stamp and color once again.

These tulips were one of my favorite. I colored them with various Copic markers and then die cut them using a Spellbinders circle. I used a piece of scrap designer paper for the base leaving some of the white on the sides which was perfect. Die cut a flourished die in white cardstock as well. My birthday sentiment in the middle with some sequins and sparkle to tie it all together. Voila! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Wedding Congrats

Good morning! Was your weekend relaxing and fun? Hopefully it was great and you are ready for a fun filled week, it is summer you know.  ;-)  I was able to get into the stamping room this weekend and happy to say it was great. We have a wedding coming up here soon so my first card was easy using Dream Wedding

Wedding cards to me are always so classy in a black and white theme with a touch of red for elegance. The cherries on this cake were perfect for the red with some added red die cut flowers. The wedding cake has sparkles added to it as all cakes need some sparkle. My sentiment tag at the top with a matching red die flower and some flourished white paper accents. Voila! Have a wonderful day!

Christmas Mittens

Someone STOP me!!! I have been smitten with these mittens... bawhaha... Okay bad pun, but these mittens are awesome! I had a request for some larger than normal gift tags and these mittens were the first thing that came to mind.

If you haven't seen all my mitten creations, check out these tutorials
Now... my Mitten Gift Tag.

You can use any mitten shape you have. Don't have a mitten die? Well I solved that with my Hot Cocoa Mitten from a few years ago.  ;-)  I have you all covered with mitten ideas. hee hee

Actually there is one more idea with this mitten die that I am working on, but not sure I will get it done in time for Christmas. We will see. This is a Memory Box die called Plush Frosty Mitten.  My sentiment is from Botanical Tree. The mitten standing up has some shimmery twine wrapped through the stitching, and the one laying down has some faux stitching with a suduko gel pen. Both have the beautiful Peaceful Poinsettia die with some added sparkle and pearls. There is enough room left for them to write who it is to and from and still look beautiful. Wrapped a little bit of ribbon through the top and tied it off with a button and twine combo. Voila! Hope you enjoyed another mitten creation from me today. Have a great day.

Who's special to you?

Happy Friday!  Time is running out for your chance to WIN in our Cut it Out Challenge! Check it out on the Power Poppy Blog for last minute details. My card today is inspired by a photo I found on Pinterest.

The orange looks awesome right!?!  Orange is not a color that I have been fond of in the past, however it is really growing on my the last year or so. Figured why not and went for it. I do like how this turned out! After coloring the Bees in Foxglove, I die cut them with a Spellbinders circle, and layered on a scallop circle. Added a little bit of faux stitching around the edges and some paper flourishes with Cherry Lynn die. A few enamel dots and voila!

Lady bug thank you

Finally got this done Saturday. A small gift for a friend with a darling mug I found at the local store. Bought the mug two weeks ago and wanted to get this done then. It is finally done, never too late!  It has her favorite chocolates inside.  ;-)  My tag is using Big Scripts with some added flourishes die and tiny flowers. Easy peasy thank you gift! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Christmas Birth

This months Christmas Challenge is Christmas Negatives! Two ways to play with this idea. Use the cut outs from metal dies (negatives, the piece that you normally would discard) use it to frame up your sentiment or images. Or create a card with negatives from film either faux or real. They have some cool dies that look like film negative now.
Hope you can play along!

I never toss the scraps from when I die cut shapes as they make great frames or accents on cards. They are especially great for framing up sentiments or images. The garden green is my negative from a Spellbinders square shape. The beauty of this is that the shape was using scrap paper so the left bottom side was cut off after the shape was die cut. BUT with embellishments you can hide that and no one knows! ;-) So I use up scraps of scraps and have a pretty frame! This is a retired CDS stamp set for my sentiment. A few pearls and voila! Thanks for stopping in today.

Serenity is nice, if you remember it

Good morning! Something about this prayer just eludes me at times, how about you? You would think reading this, seeing this and knowing this it wouldn't but it does at times. Aaaahhh... Guess that is why we are a work in progress, right.  ;-)

This stamp is called Serenity Prayer that I stamped onto white card stock. Die cut a Spellbinders oval frame around it and textured the background panel. Added some Cherry Lynn Flourished swirls die cut in white also, and a few of my remaining dark eggplant prima's my friend Pat made me. Voila!  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Easy Breezy...

Happy Friday Flourishes Friends! How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Is that summer heat getting you down? Well today the Flourishes Senior Design Team has a treat for you focusing on two beautiful summery sets: Beach Life , Seaside Life and A Guiding Light  because we know that this time of year makes you long for those cool ocean breezes.

Now I have to say that just about any beach pictures that I really love all the colors palette you see below. Its so soothing and clean, which is not what you have at the beach most of the time when sand is involved. However sitting on the beach with the waves crashing down and the sun warming your toes. Aaaahhh.. nothing like that. Instead I am here at my house with no sand or waves. Darn!!!  ha ha  I stamped the chair and some of the palm tree from Beach Life onto classic white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with copic collections:

After I colored the image I lightly sponged some clouds into the background and added scored lines to the edges. Had some of the soothing polka dot paper in the scrap bin and added some of our Color Made Easy Emerald Coast paper to the side with a scalloped edge. The white wrinkled ribbon tied into a bow with a pearl center. Voila!
Check out the Design Team today
This weeks designer focus is Silke! This is your chance to case Silke and win a Flourishes Goodie Bag! Good luck and happy stamping!

Classy lady....

Bet you thought I was all done creating with Glamour Girls didn't ya? Not a chance! This set is totally cool and I have had so much fun with it. Figured I would ink up the other gal in the set and create today. She is stamped onto classic white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black ink.
Colored with copic collections:

Once colored I die cut her out using Spellbinders Classic Oval which is a great layer onto our Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals die. The die and the base are both using our Color Made Easy Rich Browns collection.

Added some wonderful Cherry Lynn Flourishes die with a jute twine bow that I tied off a little perfume charm too. Centered with one of the sweet primas that my friend Pat sent me as a gift. A few pearls to the corners and voila! Classy lady here we are!  ;-)   Thanks for stopping by today.

FS328 Rose is a Rose

This weeks Featured Stamper 328 is Colleen aka smoatsmom. Now talk about getting lost in a beautiful gallery, wow. Colleen's work is wonderful and I have been by her gallery many a times to see her beautiful work. Hard to choose what to case to be honest. I did choose this Out Of The Box Poppy to finally case. Kept the colors, oval frame, pearls and textured background. Changed the stamp, textured panel and added ribbon. Fabulous gallery really hope you can play this week.

I stamped Old Tea Rose onto Classic White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Colored with copic collections:

Die cut the rose with Spellbinders classic ovals. Added some Cheery Lynn flourishes to the side and some Kaiser snow white pearls. My oval panel is up on dimensionals. Under the panel some swiss dots for texture, a scalloped panel with some Color Made Easy Tiger Lily Mango Orange ribbon wrapped around into a ribbon bow. Voila!

Thank you Blossoms

Happy Monday! The boys have the day off from school for a snow day so we are going around town playing today. They are super excited and after SAT test last week it is great to have the extra day off.
Today I have for you a very bold and colorful creation with the classic red, white and black colors. I stamped Bees and Blossoms onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.
Colored with copic collections:

Once the flowers were colored I die cut them using Spellbinders classic ovals that I layered onto Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals. This beautiful red cardstock is from Color Made Easy Poppy collection.

Layered with some of the Classic Black we have in stock. Some swiss dots for textures on the background with a flourish from Cherry Lynn die and then tied off a ribbon bow using Color Made Easy Poppy Bangkok red ribbon. A single black pearl to the sentiment circle and voila!
Hope you have a wonderful day.
