Birthday rose

Morning. Do you ever get really frustrated with your camera and want to scream? Well I am of late I a because for the life of me I can't seem to get this card and another one to come out non blurry. Checked and rechecked the camera settings to make sure they weren't "off" somehow and nothing. What is the deal.... I finally said forget it and just took the best one that I thought was less blurry. Bare with me please.  :-(

This rose is called Vital Rose from the Instant Garden collection at Power Poppy. My sweet and talented friend Leslie is who inspired me with the shades of purple for this rose. Check out her gorgeous rose HERE. You will not be dissapointed I tell you.
I knew that I was going to cut the rose out, so it is printed on the larger side. I colored with various Copic markers then cut around the edges so that I could pop it up on dimensionals. A few decorative die cuts for the layers from an older Spellbinders die. Some purple designer paper for the base layer and the added white decorative layer. A pearl to finish it off, Voila!

Abundant birthday wishes

My card today did not turn out quite like I had pictured in my head. Not that I don't like how it turned out but I just pictured it differently. Anyways... I stamped a few of the flowers from Abundant Petals onto a strip of white paper and colored with copic markers.

Then I added my sentiments from a retired stamp set and added suduko gel pen to the letters. It is hard to see in the photo's and looks much better in real life. I did take the picture at an angle for you to see below. A simple scalloped edge to the bottom and then added to the base layers. Easy, simple and yet still doesn't look like I had planned. Another birthday card done but this one is getting mailed out soon so not for the stash.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Have an AWESOME day!

Sage birthday wishes

Grabbed the stamp set Sage Advice for my creation. My designer paper was from a stack that the page is missing so I can't tell you what it was from. It was my color inspiration as it has some greens and pinks and caramel colors I liked.

My herbs are colored with various Copic markers. Before I finished the layers for the main panel I too my watercolor brush with some caramel ink and flicked the brush so that splatters would be around the image. I like the subtle look and plan to do this more often... if I remember that is. Layered the base with some ribbons and lace trims. A few buttons with twine for the corner of the image a panel and then my sentiment for the other. Voila!

Bottle of prayers

Morning with a quick bottle of prayers card today. The papers did all the work for this card which was rather cool. I pulled out the paper pack called Vintage Ephemera from ODBD and then started my card. For some reason the die that matches this set is missing from my dies. Gosh knows where it went so I had to cut around the sentiment and then layer it onto card stock. Which wasn't hard to do but I can't find that die now which is making me curious. Anyways...

I added a few pearls to the lace trim on the paper and then die cut a flower from the Bitty Blossoms die for the corner accent. Voila! Super easy peasy and I like the warm feeling. Thanks for stopping by today.

Mojo 509 Love and mice

Happy Monday. The current Mojo sketch 509 is up on Julee's blog.
Now I will admit when I saw this sketch I was a bit puzzled on what I was going to do. I really wanted to color up some mice lately so I shuffled through my retired sets from Whiff Of Joy and found these darling guys.

They look so happy don't they? hee hee  The mice are colored with various Copic markers and then die with a simple circle for the sketch. Stamped some of the extras in the set for the panel piece. Look closely at the girl mouse. Gasp!! She is wearing a tank top essentially... She is so modern these days. bahahaha... Just means that I need to bring these out more often to remember what I am coloring. ha! Anyways a little bit of texture to the base panela nd added sparkle to the grapes and wine to finish it off. Voila!

Blooming wonderful sale ladies...

Happy Saturday! Marcy has a weekend stamp steal sale going on with these delightful stamp sets. Check out Blooming Wonderful and Winter Pick Me Up

I stamped the image from Bloomin wonderful onto white card stock and colored based on the designer paper and scrap paper I choose before I started. These colors turned out wonderful I think. The sketch was sort of a combo between two different previous cards I have made and I combined them. Not bad but it was all I could think of at the time. Added some sponging to the sentiment circle and some textures to the green panel behind. A few pearls and sparkles to finish it off. Voila!
Hope you have some time to stamp this weekend. Have a great day.

Penciled Rose with quote

Good morning and happy Friday. Marcy released a beautiful new digi from the Instant Garden called Vital Rose which can be purchased and printed now! :-) My watercolor colored pencils skills needed some more polishing so I thought this rose would be perfect. And I would say, I need some more polishing yet. ha ha  Water coloring with ink or pencils or whatever just seems to evade me, but I keep plugging along and keep at it. Eventually I will come around, right? Anyways... This rose is awesome any color  medium you choose I would say.

The quote around the rose is colored with a light blue pencil and then water colored over just as the rose. Wonder if a darker blue would of made it stand out more, maybe next time. Just a little texture for the base layer with some swiss dots. Wrapped a little bit of sheer black ribbon and then added the flower base. The petals do have some sparkle and a few sequins as usual.  :-)

Maddy's birthday purse

I finally got to use the new die that I got for Christmas from Our Daily Bread Designs, it is the new or new to me timeless tote. I think its totally cute die and had fun making this. My first one so bare with me. She likes pink so I knew the base would be easy but the papers for the side pockets and the front pouch needed to have some flowers. So I grabbed the ODBD Blushing Rose designer paper for those. Added a few pearls and then assembled.

I need to figure out if I want to stamp the sentiment directly on the front (probably should of done that thought first) or if I just want to add a tag. hhhmmmm.. I have time to think on it. A giftcard will fit perfectly in the little pouch in the front and some chocolates that she likes inside. I have a few other  that I plan to create with this for gifts. Should be fun and I will keep you posted. Thanks for stopping by today.

FMS374 Just Because

FMS374 Just because for the sketch today. Good morning, yes another sketch card done this weekend. This one is for Freshly Made Sketches 374. I used all retired items on this card now that I look at it. Wow didn't plan that but I like it.

The stamp set is from Flourishes called Inside and Out Just Because and the heart dies are from Whiff Of Joy die lights collections. Sorry all these are retired but I still enjoy using them.
I did add some faux stitching around the edge of the card base. A few sparkles to the hearts and a few jewels as well. Here is a look at the sketch.

We have more snow and possible more snow days for school and work. Gotta love February. hee hee  An update on the games this weekend... We lost Friday night so we are officially out. They placed 6th place in the league. This was a very rough season on several levels but they pushed through, learned a lot and did better than last year. I am so proud of my boys! The team did great and they all deserve to rest now. With all this snow that shouldn't be a problem, at least until baseball practices start. Oh wait... that is next week. GASP!!! Never ends... :-)  Hope you have a wonderful start to your week. Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo 508 Birthday

Happy Friday! Game tonight is another winner moves on, loser season is over. It is so exciting and then at the same time nerve racking. Either way they have had a great season at the end of the game. Hoping for another win though.  ;-)
I have yet another card done with a Mojo Sketch 508. GASP!!! I know right. Doing pretty good keeping up. Watch now I will be behind. haha  Either way its a goal each week. Grabbed Party Time for the sketch and created another one for the birthday stash. The cake was perfect as I wanted to cut it out and pop it up on the card.

I like the fun colorful designer papers for the sketch, they were perfect. Not to mention from the scraps bin. yeah!! Cut the layers as the sketch needed added a few sequins and some sparkles to the cake. Voila! Another sketch and birthday card complete. I am feeling pretty good.  :-)

Here is a look at the sketch if you wanted to play along.

Butterfly birthday

Good morning!  Pulled out an older set called Majestic Butterflies from Sweet n Sassy for my card. It looks as if that stamp set is retired, but I did find several other sets with butterflies. I stamped several of the sizes to look like they were flying off the page to the right. I REALLY wanted to cut one out and pop up the wings but I did not. I wanted to but this needs to be a flat rate mailer card, next time...

Added some faux stitching around the edges. Layered a vellum fish tailed tab to the top left with a few enamel dots. My birthday sentiment and another enamel dot with some sparkles to the center butterfly. Voila!

Birthday Pilot

Good Morning. Played in another Freshly Made Sketches FMS373 this weekend. Used a retired stamp from Whiff Of Joy for the card. I will say this sketch is a great way to use up paper from the scrap bin, at least that is what I did for the diagonal pieces.

He is so cute isn't he. Colored him with various Copic markers and then cut around him so that I could pop him up on dimensionals. I seem to be doing a lot of the faux stitching again on cards. Once one is done I feel the need to continue for several I guess. ha ha!

Here is a look at the sketch. I am thinking I should of added some sparkles to the birthday sentiment. Might have to do that before I put it in the birthday stash. Another one complete though. YES!

In case you were wondering how the boys did this weekend they won game 1 and lost game 2. We are now in single elimination this coming weekend. I am proud of them and their season! The girls had the same outcome with there games, although they seeded higher than the boys over all from season record. Talk about excitement though in the stands. Woot woot!!! Go Liberty!
Hope you have a wonderful day.

SCSCCFEB19 Start with your house

Afternoon! Finally got my card done and photo'd  (yes crooked but it will have to do) before we head out to the game. The February Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge is posted up and ready for your creation. Check it out over on the SCS Forum HERE

These guys are so sweet and once I start pulling them out I always smile and enjoy it. Fairly quick and easy since we have been crazy busy with basketball. I stamped them on white cardstock and colored with copic markers. Added some faux stitching around the base layers. This is designer paper from and old Teresa Colins pack called Santa's list. My sentiment is stamped on vellum and then some enamel dots for the corners and stickles on the icing. Voila! Hope you can play along this month. Have a great day.
