DTGD with Grapes

Happy Monday! The Dare To Get Dirty challenges started up this weekend over on Splitcoaststampers. I was unable to play along last year but this year I intend to play in a few of them. This one is for Lori aka Lmcaree challenge. Grapes would be what I would hope you would find, not the mouse. ha ha  You have to see the challenge to know what I am talking about, so head on over and play along.

Every year I have played in the challenges I always use one of my House Mouse stamps, its a tradition at this point. Besides... they are so adorable how can you not. Anyways, this is a long and tall card for this guy. I added a little bit of texture to the base and a scallop edge to the image panel. A few sequins and some sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Abundance Release Day at Power Poppy

Welcome to Power Poppy's Abundance Collection release day!! We have one last set to share with you today Under Glass and WOW! This set is totally ADORABLE! Wait until you see the whole set.

I totally had fun playing with this for a birthday card. I have lots of sparkle on this and it doesn't show well in the photo, sorry about that. It has a very easy breezy feel to it. I beginning to think this chicken wire textured background is my new favorite. hee hee  Grabbed some designer paper that was my color inspiration. Then tied in the hearts on the typewriter paper to the banner and voila!

Abundance Collection Day Four

Welcome to Power Poppy's Abundance Collection sneak peeks! We are excited to share with you today Dahlia XL. Squeel!!! Another of Marcy's large blossoms to work with and it is just as fabulous as the Tiger Lily XL. Created a fun gift bag for today. It is rather large so I took a picture out back.  This was a plain kraft gift bag and I altered it up a little bit. Some designer paper and card stock for the base. Pierced along the top and bottom of the cardstock base. Part of my sentiment stamped directly to the bag and the other to a tag.

Here is a close up as I have layered the Dahlia into three layers. and cut between the layers to add the leaves. The orange like color is actual Twinkling H20 added to the petals. Yep have those sitting around for ages and thought I would use them as well. However it has been a long time since I used those and well.... I put it on too thick I think but it looks nice in real life. A different kind of shimmer than the one from yesterday's Pearl-Ex pigments. Just trying to use up more of the stuff I collect over the years.  :-)  This flower layered is just awesome, so many possibilites.

Abundance Collection Day Three

Welcome to Power Poppy's Abundance Collection sneak peeks! Enjoy the sneak peeks so far?  :-) We are excited to share today Tree of Life. What a beautiful tree and lots of color options. Color explosion on this one I would say. Created a box for today's using the basic Square Box tutorial I did awhile back. Added faux stitching around the base layers. That ribbon slider fit nicely and since I have several of those still left from who knows how long ago figured why not. ha ha

And speaking of things from long ago how about those jars of Pearl-Ex pigments? Anyone besides me still have those jars around? Well I added duo green-yellow to each of the leaves for a shimmery effect you can see below. I had to take the photo sideways to pick it up the best I could. It looks beautiful in real life.

Abundance Collection Day Two

Welcome to Power Poppy's Abundance Collection sneak peeks! We are excited to share with you today Pure Prairie Spirit. I like that this large bouquet can be big and bold or can be die cut down to just a few blooms of your choosing like I did with my card today.

The flower was stamped out and before I colored it I went ahead and die cut the shape I wanted. That way there was no extra coloring to be done.  ;-)  Added the layers onto the matching die cut frame then my sentiment in the corner. Some sparkle and sequins. Voila!

Abundance Collection Day one

Welcome to Power Poppy's Abundance Collection sneak peeks! We are excited to share with you today Vibrant Thanks stamp set. This set is AWESOME! The different flowers in the set and sentiments is going to be used quite frequently at my house. I made myself use the bee balm for my first card by process of rock, paper, scissors game. ha ha Truly wanted to use them all but this won out. A rather soft and delicate feeling thank you using three different sentiments in the set.

I have not used my vellum in awhile and thought it added such a softness to the flower with the background stamp as well. Added a few sequins and some sparkle to the blooms. Voila!

Be strong, Be you

Happy Friday! We have a big project we are doing in the backyard so this is going to be quick today. I will say having two teenage boys that are strong and needing gas money sure does make life easier with these home projects. hee hee
My card today started out with the colors of the Hues to Use this week until my pink shading turned much too light. Yet it is still a great card I think, don't you? This is using Hellebores digi printed rather large because I like that.  :-) A simple design with the stitched rectangles and some pearls to finish it off. Voila!

Raspberries anyone?

I will admit I wouldn't want this particular berry basket if I had to choose since these guys touched them. But a fresh basket yes please. hee hee  :-)  Since I had pulled out my patriotic ones for the July calendar page I came across this one and set it on the desk to use. Oh they just make me so happy.

Since this is such a large image its hard to create a lot of embellishments but the picket fence at the bottom worked well. I added a butterfly to the top berry and my sentiment to the corner. They do have some sparkles on the berries for fun. Voila!

Summer birthday

Dusted off another of the Anya sets I have had for years. She is just adorable with her sunglasses. hee hee  Very simple design using some designer paper from the scrap bin. Yellow and pink seem to be the colors that went well with her summer outfit.

I added a heart die cut border at the bottom. My butterflies are colored and then cut out so that I could spread their wings. They have some sparkle added as well. Finished it off with a few brads and my birthday sentiment. Voila!

Peace and Joy for July

It is Friday and time for the Bloom Brigade to show off a few creations along with the Good Vibe 5 post on the Power Poppy Blog. A few reminders in case you were busy all week. Our Hues to Use is posted again (Every Tuesday) and the colors are dear to my heart.  :-)  Remember if you play along you might be our next guest designer! The July Power and Spark challenge is posted up called On The Case. For playing along you have a chance at winning $50 in bloom bucks at the Power Poppy Store. Check out both challenges and play along.

My card today is casing Miss Julie's darling Christmas card found HERE.
I kept the basic layout over all and the image. I changed the colors, added a layer, changed the designer paper, added sequins and moved the sentiment.

Simply Joys is one of my favorite sets we did last year for Christmas. The balls have some sequins added to them and the can has some suduko gel pen added which is hard to see in the photo. And I added faux stitching around the edge to match the stitching on the die. I do like how this turned out and it will be an easy mailer too. This also fits the Dirty Dozen July Christmas challenge. Another card done for the year, yeah!! Voila!

Philippians 4:13

Good morning. The new Hues to Use colors are posted and I was not gonna miss this week's colors.  :-)  Who wouldn't love to play with shades of blue!?!?!  My favorite color. Aaawww... Just makes me smile thinking about the color. Don't forget if you play along in our Hues to Use each week you could be our next guest designer. That's right! So grab those colors and let's see what you create.

My creation today is also for our On the Case  July challenge brought to us by Ally. You are to "case" one of our Bloom Brigades creations. Don't forget their is $50 in Power Poppy Bucks if you WIN the monthly drawing.  Doesn't get any better than that!
For my card I choose Miss Katie's fall creation to case. You can find her original card and post HERE. I kept the over all layout and stamp set. I changed the colors to the Hues to Use colors, added hardward to the top left, moved the buttons and changed the sentiment. Also my stitching is fake unlike the real deal on Katie's card. I tried to match the design of the designer paper as well.

I really like the suduko gel pens as they had a different type of sparkle to the cards. However in photo's it always looks like dirt on the card. So I took the below picture at an angle to catch some of the pen. It looks beautiful in real life. I traced over all the wheat in the different shades of the blue. Same ink used for both shades just kept stamping until the ink wasn't showing. I think its called huffing or something I can't remember? I of course started playing with more shades of blue so be on the look out later for another blues card. hee hee

I hope you play along in the Hues to Use or the On The Case July monthly challenge. Have a wonderful day!

90th Birthday for Grandma

Good morning! A big celebration this weekend with grandma's 90th birthday. What do you get someone who has everything? We ended up with getting flowers and so did everyone else. ha ha  The house smelled like a flower field she had so many flowers. Scattered all around her house it looks beautiful.

I knew the paper I was going to use right away as she loves roses and pink, so I grabbed ODBD Blushing Rose.  These Large Numbers die were coming next as I wanted them specifically for aged birthdays, like the boys I did this year. Used the Vintage Labels die as the base for the numbers and added some flourished die cuts under neath.
Used some flowers I have had in my stash from a long time ago to the edges. My base layers have faux stitching around the edges and some sparkle and sequins to finish it off. You can see the glue is still wet on the sequins as I had to take the photo and head over to the party. Yep... nothing like waiting until the last minute. Sheesshh... Story of my weekend I tell you.  :-)  Anyways.... I have time this week to stamp which is great. Suppose to be another hot week like this weekend was. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hollyhock Notecard

Good  morning and happy Friday! Okay, I know what you are thinking. This card is not straight, what is she thinking? Well its not  straight and I know this much.... if Ranger wasn't such a sweet and loving dog I would be upset with him. However since he is I will not be upset and just make sure that he has had "play time" before I get in the stamp room. Otherwise I will end up with more cards like this. ha ha! Anyways...

Time is short with the boys finishing up their summer basketball league games. They go to basketball camp next week so I am running around trying to get everything they need ready. Only had time for easy peasy card using Old Time Hollyhocks. A designer paper layer under the image panel with ribbon and silver cord wrapped around. Stitched rectangles from Lil Inkers for the die cuts and some enamel dots and sparkles to finish it off Voila!

A kiss for my prince

Good morning. This is the last digi in the set I bought from Sassy Cheryl's a few weeks back. I am very proud of myself for using all in the collection that I bought as I tend to not use everything I buy these days. My goal this year was to start using all I buy and go back to older sets to use more often. So far so good... keeping my fingers crossed. Anyways... this is Avery finds her prince

After I colored the image a simple piercing around the edge for a border. Some designer paper for the layers and faux stitching to match the pierced border. Added a white fence die cut and some flowers to match. Some sequins and voila! So easy and just darn right cuteness I think. I hope you have a wonderful day!

July Calendar page

Now you had to know that this months calendar was going to be using these guys. This is now called Star Spangled Mice at Stampendous but I bought it originally called Patriotic Wrap from House Mouse. One of my favorite House Mouse stamps to date. hee hee

These calendar pages are super easy as you don't have to add a bunch of fluff. I added a little bit of sparkle to the stars and the flag and voila! Have a wonderful Fourth of July if I miss seeing you before then.

2017 Presents

The July Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge is posted and its all about presents. It is better to give than receive and I agree. Lots of options this month. I started with a card and a few presents.

I created a garland like look using Merry Littles. Popped up two bows using dimensionals. You can't see the suduko gel pen that I added to the pinecones and the needles but it looks really cool in person. A hint of sparkle on the bows and voila!
Hope you can play along this month!
