Sunset Friend

Happy Friday! Can you believe that we are at the end of April already? Where did the month go already? May is our crazy month every year but I have a feeling April just gave us a run for our money. ha ha
How about that new digi from the Instant Garden collection Sunset Sway? Hhhhmmmm... Isn't it lovely? What a joy this is to color.

My flowers are colored in vibrant colors for this card using various Copic markers. Very simple with just a little scallop edge along the bottom of the designer paper. Then some texture on the top of the white panel using chicken wire embossing folder and button with some twine for the corer. And who can live without sparkles? hee hee  Voila!

Tiger Lily Gift Box Tutorial

Good morning. Today I am finally getting the Tiger Lily Box instructions for you that I promised. It has been crazy busy with school and sports that I just needed to sit down and get it done. Besides my sister was wondering if the second box was going to be for next years teacher at the rate I was going. ha ha  So let's get started. I did try to take the photo's in my light box, but it was to hard so its on the front counter. Hopefully you won't mind.  :-)

Supplies: Cardstock, designer paper, scissors, Tiger Lily XL stamp, giftbox punch board, scoring tool, foam mat.

Step 1: Stamp out two flowers and some leaves. You could do another layer if desired, I kept it with just the two as before.  Color as desired. Cut out each flower and leaf as shown.

Step 2: To pop the leaves up on the box you will need to cut in between the petals but not all the way to the center. They have a natural break line to the center and I use that as my guide. The flower on the left shows how far I cut into the center between the leaves.

Step 3: Once you have cut between the petals you can use the scoring tool to help roll the flower petals in an upward motion. I use this first, then I tend to use my finger to give it more of a rounded look. It will flex as you handle the petals so don't worry if it doesn't stay the first few times. Do this to both flowers and the leaves and set aside.

Step 4: This box is a little thinner and taller than my original to make it different for the other teacher. I used the measurements for the large box, 11 x 11 sheet of paper on the giftbox punch board instructions. To secure the flower to the box without having to tear it open, I have added a belly band to the box. Cut two pieces of solid card stock 1/2 inch width x 11 inch length. Score both pieces at 1 inch, 4 3/8 inch and 8 1/2 inch as shown.

Step 5: Turn strips opposite of each other, add adhesive to the inside of the right strip and secure to the back of the left piece. It will leave the little flap up as shown to the right below. Add adhesive to the little flap, that will be hidden on the inside. If this is confusing, don't add adhesive at first just wrap around the box for a visual.

Step 6: Place box in center and wrap around. I have it held in place to show you. Add adhesive to the left far edge strip and secure over the top of the box. The little flap will be secured on the inside of the band.

Step 7: Take your flowers and add dimensionals to the middle. I forgot to photo the flower stems in the middle earlier as you see them now. These will be added to the center and secured with a dimensonal as well.

Step 8: I find it easier to handle the flower and roll the petals with the belly band off the box until finished. Layer the flowers and secured to the belly band. and roll the ends up and out as you prefer. Secure the center and slide the belly band back onto the box to finish final details. Decorate as desired.

Step 9: My final Tiger Lily giftbox in pink.  The leaves are secured onto the belly band under the petals so when it slides off as you see below it is all one piece. I added some sparkles to the petals and rolled them a bit more once on the box.

Voila! I hope you have time to create a gift today and have fun. Enjoy your day!

Hyacinth note card

Good morning. Hopefully you had an enjoyable weekend and maybe got outside for a little bit. As I mentioned on Friday we had the car show and auction on Saturday both of which were wonderful. The amount of cars we had was fantastic and some of them were just beautiful. The auction was fun. I won several of the baskets I bid on which means two birthday's are now taken care of for this summer. hee hee  Moving on to my card today.  :-)

This is Hyacinth Bulb in Glass one of the new digital images at Power Poppy. I have seen lots of people grow bulbs in vases and it is so cool. It just amazes me how beautiful they look just as if they were outside. Have yet to try it myself, one day.
After my flower was printed and colored with various Copic markers I die cut the panel with ODBD die. Sponged the panel before I removed the die also with a light purple ink. My base panel is dry embossed with swiss dots embossing folder and then added a piece of purple gingham to the center. A few sequins and some sparkle to finish it off. Voila
Have a wonderful day!

Dream wedding

Happy Friday! It seems to be the season for babies and wedding's this year for us. My wedding card today is using Dream Wedding and some fresh springy colors. Normally I like the traditional black, white and red for wedding cards but I just wasn't feeling it. Spring wedding it is!

Since I had limited time this was pretty easy to create. My peach panel (although looks orange regardless of how I took the photo) is dry embossed with swiss dots folder. I stamped the cake on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. Then I used my Mini Misti to add the sentiments and position them just perfectly around the cake. Die cut some flourishes leaves and flowers for accents. Added sparkle and pearls, voila!

The auction is Saturday night and I am praying that it will be successful. Either way it will be a fun filled weekend for sure. Have a wonderful weekend too!

Beautiful friend

This is a different take on the stamp set Artful Display. I wanted to use just the one "dish" for the center of attention for this card. I stamped the plate on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Then I cut around the plate so I could added it to the center of the banana colored square. Layered some flourished leaves around the edges and adhered to the designer paper base. A few enamel dots and some sparkles to finish it off.

Before I go be sure to check out the Power Poppy Blog today for the reveal of the new Instant Garden Digital image. Here is a sneak peek... It is called Sunset Sway!  head on over to the Power Poppy Blog for all the sneaks and links!

Have a great day!

Baby bunny

Good morning. Another baby card for you using Built With Love from Crafter's Companion. I think this might be retired since I am not able to find it? I just got this a few months ago and finally inked it up. Sheesshh... I need to stamp faster I guess. ha ha

Might be a little too much sparkle on the blocks but what the hey its a baby card. hee hee  I added faux stitching around the white base panel. The designer paper is from my scrap bin and perfect for the color combo. This is for my friend Ali who is not finding out the sex of the baby... so neutral colors. Added a scalloped edge to the bottom of the designer paper and a few tiny buttons to finish it off. Voila! Thanks for stopping by today.

Sweet Baby card

Morning! Currently I am in need of several baby cards and I have not a single one on hand. EEK! Baby cards are always so fun to create except when you are in a hurry. So bare with me on this design today as it didn't come out how I thought it would come out.  :-)  My little giraffe is a retired Patchpal from CDS years ago and one of my favorites still. This particular friend loves anything giraffe so it was perfect for her baby card.

There is several more layers on this card that I normally have on cards but I kept adding layers. The scallop edge is my favorite with baby cards its just perfect I think. A few die cuts for the baby accents. A faux stitched border around the edge and popped up the giraffe with dimensionals. She is going to adore this I just know. Especially as she likes just about everything I create. hee hee  Anyways... Hope you have a great day!

Thank you Branch

Good morning! Spring break is over so back to the grind as they say. The boys tournament was awesome and so much fun. I am proud of all their hard work and effort they put into everything they do. My time in the craft room was limited last week, yet I did get in there for a little bit. Played with the digi Graceful Still Life the other digi in the set.

There is actually a few really cool pictures out there of pink blossomed branches so I thought I would give it a try. These blooms are colored with various Copic markers. Layered onto a panel embossed with swiss dots yet it is hard to see them since I didn't think about that when I printed and colored these guys. Sheesssh... But they are there and then a scalloped edge for fun. Added sequins and some sparkle. Voila!
Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your Monday!

Power poppy and Sweet Petunia Blog Hop

That's right... Power Poppy and Sweet Petunia teamed up this week for some creative fun to show you. We can't wait to get started... but first a few details:
· You will need to leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win the Power Poppy giveaway and the MISTI giveaway (winner's choice of original or mini).

· MISTI Winners will be announced on this page of the My Sweet Petunia blog on April 14th.  Power Poppy Winners of (2) $25 gift certificates will be on the Power Poppy Blog on the 14th.

Here is  my creation today is using Peony Muse which was just saying please mask me using the new Misti.  :-)  So I listened to that inner voice and did just that. hee hee I do have to admit that it makes it so much easier to line it all up and stamp using the Misti and makes masking so much nicer. A must have tool that will be used quite often.

Once my masking was complete I colored with Various Copic markers I die cut the panel. I did however want to leave the extended leaves around the edges so I made sure they were not die cut so they could extend over. Added a sentiment to some vellum wrapped around the center. My sequins accents and the sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Be sure to comment on EACH person's blog to be considered for the drawing/prizes!

April Sunshine

Good morning! This is my April calendar using a retired set. However if you would like a different version of this beautiful display, check out Marcy's Digital version revamped called Flower Bomb

This is another month that I left the scripture off so she can write her own. Going with the every other month or occasional one I add is fun and she appreciates it. Very simple with just some coloring on the bloom and a scored border. Voila!

Summer Tiger

Good morning. Spring break baby... woot woot... That means sleeping in, lazy days and of course fun outside. I'm not sure how much sleeping in we are going to get as they have several practices along with weights still but it will be better than a normal school day. The tournament is this coming weekend and they are getting ready. Going to be a blast!  The weather is FINALLY spring like, the sun is out and the flowers are starting to sprout. Going to be a great spring break.
I might get some crafting done this week as well... I did get some done this weekend. How about some more of that wonderful Tiger Lily XL I mentioned recently. hee hee  I know... I know... enough already but I do like this flower, its just awesome. This one is in yellow and grey colors with a hint of blue. :-)

Again another way to use the flower and not having to use the entire image if you didn't want to. This is colored with various Copic markers then die cute using Pierced Squares die for both layers. Layered some crochet ribbon and yellow ribbon around the base. These flourished pearls seemed like a great accent with the yellow and grey colors.

Then I added some suduko gel pen to the flower petals which really make it look cool. Of course its hard to see in the photo but I took a side view to give you a hint of it. In real life it looks rather classy with the pearl accents. Well folks that is all I have for today. Hope you enjoy your day, thanks for stopping by!
