Christmas Wreath

Good morning. I just couldn't resist this wreath when I came across it on Becky's blog called Berry Wreath. She has several digital images if you have never checked it out, see HERE. I have a thing for wreaths and this was one I thought would be perfect for my collection.

The wreath was printed on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. I then cut around the edges of the wreath to pop it up on dimensionals For the base layer of the card I have some faux stitching around the edges and some sequins accents. My sentiment to the center of the wreath and some sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

On a side note... We are in the Play Off's!  Woot Woot! The win Friday night sealed the deal and we are in. So proud of the boys and the hard work the whole team has put in this year. It is win or go home now. Friday will be along day as we have to travel 3 hours for the game on neutral field, blah blah blah. I am thinking that is a long drive for us all to do, but worth it.  :-)  I will keep you posted as we progress, wish us luck! Have a wonderful day.

Busy but happy

Good morning. The week of the new release was really crazy at my house as not only was I trying to get sneak peeks done with the gorgeous new stamps. We had a few things going on at the house and I wanted to share pictures with you. First up we had the football team dinner before the Homecoming game. It was suppose to be at our house, but the senior volleyball night happen to see that same night so it was moved to the school. Several players either had girlfriends or sisters that were seniors. It was a great night and you can see most of the team below. 33 lbs of pulled pork and all the trimming and sides for these men... and boy can they eat.  :-) It really is an honor to serve dinner to these young men. Godly men who truly are fun to be around.

Next up was the homecoming football game and as you can see below Curtis won as Sophomore prince. His brother was nominated also, but only one can win. It was freezing cold at halftime for the homecoming show and I felt so bad for these guys as they didn't have coats on like us. I have a video of the court and parents being ushered out onto the field, it was wonderful. Next to him is his friend Parker who won Junior prince.

Next we move onto homecoming night itself. We drove to several houses picking up girls and taking pictures etc. This was our first dance for the boys so we wanted to make sure we took lots of pictures. Plus he is still in the 6 month rule of no driving anyone in your car, so we had to drive them all. Very handy for us I would say. hee hee  We bought a suite and the vest color to match her dress. So hopefully he won't get much taller and the suit will fit for a few more months for another event we have. He looks so much like John, I just smile. Aaaaawwww.

Curtis and his beautiful date posing for about the 100th picture. This was the final house we came to for pictures and I am sure they were glad about that. Don't they look just darling together.  :-)

I had to take one from the Tahoe as the guys had to be in the third row in the back. You can't tell but they are practically eating their knees. We were all laughing. It was such a great night with these kids. A wonderful bunch!

Thankfully we are back to a bit more regular schedule with only a few booster things on the table. The sports program will be getting started here for basketball in a few weeks. Right now it is sprinkler blow-outs and a few other little things. I need to get into the stamp room and relax a bit. ha ha    Thanks for sharing in our crazy home life. Have a wonderful day!

Santa Frost

Happy Friday! If you missed our newest release the only good thing I can think about that is, now you don't have to wait to order. All of the new release is available NOW at the Power Poppy Store. AND... the sale is still going. Check it out:

The Power Poppy Blog has all the inspiration behind these sets along with a list of who posted what samples. Be sure to check it out. Again the new release is available now.  :-)

This awesome Flowering Santa had to be my post today since this is my new favorite santa image. ;-)  I really need to take a class and figure out how to photograph sparkle so you can see it better. There is a ton of sparkle all over his beard and hair, in real life you can see it shimmer and sparkle galore. I colored him with various Copic markers and then cut around the image so he cold be popped up on dimensionals. A simple lace trim and ribbon wrapped around the center of the designer paper layer. Silver cord to go with the silver sequins and then sparkle. Oh I do like how this turned out. Voila!

My creation today is using Winter Wonderland in an easel shaped card. The designer paper pack for this is from Kaiser and I like that the pre-cut center pieces in the back really make for easy easel folded cards. A layer of gold shimmery paper behind the designer paper was perfect to tie the colors together. Die cut my sentiment panel and layered onto a decorative frame. Added some flourished pearls and die cut poinsettia's for accents. Some sparkle all over and voila. This looks so much prettier in real life, I just couldn't get it to photo well.

How about a mitten shaped card? Yes rather red and white feeling with a few touches of green, just what I like.  :-)  My designer paper was wrapped with the silver cord then adhered to the front of the mitten shaped base. Added my sentiment to the wrist part on the mitten. Some dimensionals behind the image to pop it up. Then some sparkle and a few sequins to finish it off. Voila!

Today is the ever so cool Flowering Santa. Now look at his beard, is that not the coolest thing ever? Marcy sure does know how to add some creativity to even the smallest thing as a beard. hee hee  Don't forget Marcy has some inspiration behind this set over on the Power Poppy Blog.
My version is a rather light feel as I have another one started that is more traditional coloring and my classic blue, white and silver that I like.  ;-) I thought the light purple would be fun for this one.

He is colored with various Copic markers then die cut with a standard oval shape. I layered that oval onto a decorative oval shape. Then some flourished jewels were placed behind the decorative oval panel. Finished it off with some sparkle and Voila!

Today we have sneak peeks for Under Glass Christmas Traditions. If you saw the first edition of Under Glass you are gonna love this one just as much. I wanted to create a mini card for this months Power and Spark challenge but its a tad over the 4 inch tall requirement so it turned into just a mini tag. hee hee

The tree is colored with various Copic markers. Then a simple pierced edge and some faux stitching around before I adhered it to a decorative panel. I have had this green shimmery ribbon for awhile and it was perfect for the top with a bow. Added a few jewels and then some sparkle. Voila!

AND that is your chance to shop, woot woot!!!

Today we are showing you Rustic Rejoicing. Oh my word... this set is a must have I am telling you now. The first thing I thought of was a gift tag using these pine cones. Oh they make me so happy. Colored with some Copic markers and a few tag die cut layers.

Now I will tell you that this tag looks so much better in real life. The suduko gel pen accents do not show in the photo at all. I added a gold rim around the red layer and then went over it with the gel pen to add an extra bit of shimmer. The ribbon has some sparkle added to it as well which you can sorta see. I am not sure I can part with this tag, I really like how this turned out. Simple ribbon tied around the top and some gold cord to finish it off. Voila!

Today we are showing you Snow Kissed. Marcy has come inspiration behind our first clear Snowman on the Power Poppy Blog.  It is no secret that I adore snowmen and this guy is darling. The designer paper from gosh knows how long ago was my color palette for this one.

He is colored with various Copic markers and then die cut using a stitched rectangles die. Layered onto a purple panel with silver cord wrapped around the center. Two snowflakes die cut in some shimmery silver paper for the top corner. Added a few silver pearls and some sparkles to finish this off. Voila!

Mini sunflower

Happy Friday! Have you heard the expression "Running around like a chicken with his head cut off?" Well that would be a great example of what we have going on at our house as of late. I will not bore you with the details but let me just say a nice day on the beaches of hawaii sound really good about now. As long as I was not able to take my cell phone or a laptop with me.  ;-)  hee hee

I did have time to color up a quick mini card the other day between games. This little guy is for our Mini and Mighty challenge we have going on over at Power Poppy the whole month! Check out the post for details and linking your creations.  You have a chance at winning $50 in Power Poppy Bucks!

Had to take a quick picture out back since I wasn't able to get the camera out. I kinda like how it reflects off the table don't you? Anyways, this is using In Praise of Sunflowers. I stamped the little sunflower image onto cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Then scored around the edge and added my sentiment. This card is a total of 4 inches high and 2 1/2 in width. Super cute all tiny and sweet. Added a few jewels and some sparkle and voila! Hope you get a chance to play along this month.
Big news... Power Poppy's October Happiest Holiday 2017 Release starts Sunday October 15th through October 24th! GASP!!! YES, that many days and that means... that many new stamps and a few Instant Garden Digi's!!!  Woot Woot!!!! You will not want to miss a thing. So be sure to check out the Power Poppy Blog for details and sneak peek and fun!!!

Mini and Mighty Autumn

Hi and welcome to this months Power and Spark challenge called Mini and Mighty brought to you by myself. :-)  Often I don't need a large card just a small thank you note to attach to something or to slip someone to say hi. Those tend to be smaller notes that are perfect to say what I need without a lot of space. So how about some mini me creations this month. Plus you have a chance at winning $50 in power poppy bucks! I hope you can play along.

Since I had not had a change to play with the new Autumn's Opulence digi that was perfect for my first Mini and Mighty creation. After I colored the petals and leaves in the wonderful fall colors we have outside right now, I die cut the shape using a Spellbinders dies. Then I figured I would add some layers with the same shape for the base and designer paper. The image panel is up on dimensionals so that I was able to add the flourished pearls under neath. My sentiment tag with an enamel dot to the corner and finished it off with some sparkle. Voila!

October calendar Page

This boot is so fun to color and with the leaves changing color outside it was pretty easy to imagine fall colors. The stamp set I used was Feeling Fall and very easy calendar page again with just a few enamel dots and some sparkles. Voila!

October Christmas Travels

The Dirty Dozen October Christmas Challenge is posted up all about travel. You can find the challenge here and play along. Maya is travelling by sled this year with her faithful kitty. :-) This set is retired and hasn't been touched in a few years so it was perfect for today's card. This designer paper is from an old pack but I liked the snowflakes and the color. After the image was die cut I layered onto some pink cardstock to match the layer below. Wrapped some lace trim and ribbon around the center. Tied off a tiny sentiment and tag to the bow and finished with some sparkles. Voila!

Kitchen complete

Afternoon! Finally sitting down to get these pictures loaded of the new kitchen counter and back splash. If you look at the renovation post below this one or look HERE it shows the counter as it was which was what we had installed when we built the house years ago. Slowly we have been upgrading sections and excited with each new upgrade.

This is the view as you walk in from the living room. I took these pictures right after they left so nothing is back on the counter. The wall behind the sink is changing decor as well. Their is only one seam in the entire counter and it to just to the left of the stove there about 12 inches over. The rest is one big slab of the Quartz Coronado design. We LOVE it!

If you walk to more towards the dining room you can see the other part of the counter and the back splash. Under the counter on the left we had these decorative pieces that were secured to the counter. Now that the counter is a little bit higher we had to re-attach them and re-stain all the parts that the counter didn't cover. You can see more of those in the below picture. They weren't hard to remove and reinstall but the painting was a pain. ha!

The first under mount sink that I have had and I truly am in glad we choose this design. Super easy clean up on the counter and oh do I like the matching stainless steel. Yippee!!!

The back splash is actually two different pieces that we matched together so that it was 6 inches above the counter. We didn't go all the way up to meet the cabinets (which I really wanted to do) because it would of looked odd with the area here and no cabinets. So they suggested we do a higher tile and pick two designs and I am glad we did. This is a little bit wider than the counter we had by an inch and about 3/8 of an inch taller than the previous counter. Which doesn't seem like much but it really does seem bigger. I liked washing dishes before but now I REALLY like it. hee hee
We are done with home upgrades for a bit as I am tired and well it costs a whole lot to do. :-)  Thanks for stopping by and sharing in our newest upgrade. Have a wonderful day.
