Nasturtiums Shadow box Sneak Day one

Today is day one of Sneak Peeks for Flourishes May new releases. This new set is called Nasturtiums, now how that is said is beyond me. LOL I got this shadow box frame and altered it for a gift for my SIL who is moving into her new house here in a few weeks. This is the full view of the shadow box frame.

Here is a picture a little closer for you to see. I have some of the flowers popped up and the leavesl. I stamped the flowers in a black archival ink. Then I watercolored them and then went back over them with a marker to highlight some areas. I added some butterfly punches and some jewels. I used a sentiment from the set as well. If you stand from the side you can see more of the flowers along the sides, but from the front you only see some, I can't get a great picture without a ton of glares.

Here is an even closer picture. Please note that the lighting of set the camera in the background so it makes it look funny with my shadow. Sorry. hee hee Hope you have enjoyed day one. Be sure to check out the girls sneaks also below.

MMM A Gate fold you say....

This weeks House Mouse and Friends blog challenge is to make a gate fold card. I haven't done one of these folds forever infact I had to remember how to cut this right. I messed up a few times, good thing for extra cardstock. LOL
I used a soft colored paper from memory box called Sweetbay. I colored the flowers in a soft barely banana ink and assembled the gate fold. I do like how this turned out. I can't get it to closed for the picture without my hands holding it, so I just took it with it open. :0)
Check out the other DT's cards and play along with us! Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Friday Focus Watercoloring

Over on the Flourishes newsletter Julie is going to show you different ways to watercolor with different elements.
For my card I used ink from the lid in my ink pad. I kept this very simple so the focus is on the tree. I used three different ink pads and as you can see the camera picked them up very well, which doesn't make me happy. It blends and looks much better IRL. Darn camera picks stuff up when you don't want it to and not when you need it to. LOL Be sure to check out the newsletter and see the variety you can have with watercoloring! And check out the DT cards.
