WOJ #149 Sketch Challenge

Good morning! Today is the new challenge issued over on the Whiff Of Joy Inspiration Blog and its a sketch challenge. Here is a quick look at the sketch. Be sure to head on over to the WOJ blog to link your creations and see the DT creations for the sketch.

I turned my creation into a standard size card verses the square card for the sketch.

This feels to springy and sweet don't you think? I grabbed Maya watching ladybug and stamped her onto classic white cardstock and colored with various copic markers. My beautiful prima's are from my stash from a sweet friend Pat. I can't get enough of these babies I tell ya. ha!  This birthday sentiment is from General Sayings 2. A few pearls to the corners and voila!

Easter Special

Good morning! Created another Easter card to share today. This one is pretty simple also as I grabbed my Easter Wishes set for this one. Stamped the chick image onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.

Colored with copic collections:

Once color layered the panel onto some Color Made Easy Sunflower paper then added dimensionals to the back of the panel.
Scored the borders as usual and thought some soft ribbon would finish it off. So I used the Color Made Easy Sunflower  Primrose tied it into a bow using ivory jute twine and a Sunflower button for the center. Voila!
Can I share a scary story with you? First let me say that both Ranger and myself are fine. Yesterday when Ranger and I were on our normal route we take for our walk we were stopped for a second  but just as I looked up I see this large rotweiler dog headed for us in a full on run, he was not wanting to play. I dropped the leash and let Ranger do whatever he needed to do. Needless to say it wasn't pretty, the owners of this dog came screaming and running towards their dog shouting who was in a fight with mine. It took 2 grown men to pull that dog off of Ranger who's mouth was clamped down on Ranger. I have never been more scared in my life! After they removed their dog they were asking if I was okay and my dog. Ranger was growling at them when they tried to come near me, I said just stay back and let me check him out. Ofcourse when I made Ranger sit and stay so I could check him over he was licking my face he was essentially saying are you okay mom, are you okay? It was very sweet as I could tell he was very worried about me. Mind you my heart is slammed against my chest and I am on like hyper mode of panic almost. I throughly checked him and no blood, no puntcure wounds just a lot of wet mashed fur with slobber but he was okay. The one owner said he was very sorry, he slipped out the door on us. He said good thing your dog has a lot of fur.
What! Good thing my dog has a lot of fur, what a crock. So what do I say... "I am sorry that this had to happen." What the heck is wrong with me? I should of chewed his butt and then some as DH tells me.  As I am walking back home stopping every few feet to make sure he has no blood or injuries I am praying say God thank you for protecting me and Ranger. I call DH on the cell phone to explain to him what happened. He was glad we are both safe and unharmed.  I felt so helpless and should of done more, but you should never get in between two dogs fighting as you will come out the loser. UGH! I think DH is going to have a word with those owners are their dog obviously has issues and what if they were gone at work and this happened. A whole different scenario would of occured, especially if DH was on the walk with us. Ranger is totally fine and has probably forgot about this but I have not. I kept replaying it over and over in my head till I got a aheadache. ugh...
Tomorrow we will be walking a different route and hopefully I won't EVER encounter this again. Thanks for listening to my scary day! If you can say a little prayer for me that would be great. ;0)

Creative Confidence

I admit it... I am addicted to the Ted Talks videos. They are fantastic, very modivational and just wow.... You remember the Golden Circle one I gave a link to? This is another great idea. They are all great, yet you don't want me listing them all I am sure. So just a few every now and then will do. HA!
Enjoy!

So Grateful

Well I made it through a weekend of the Science Project rough draft. My boys are wonderful in the fact that they pick fantastic inventions and inventors, the only issue I have is I am totally not geared to invent this way. ha!  Lucky for them their father is geared this way and really into how things work etc. So all this *stuff* is perfect for the three of them as I can help on the paper part of the projects and they can tinker with wires, tubes, electrical gadgets etc. They picked Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Both awesome inventors and reading about them has been very interesting. I learned more about them then I had as a kid. Very excited for thier projects and their boards they have some wonderful information to share. On to my creation today.
Decided round was the way to go for this creation. Pulled out my Autumn Blossoms and stamped onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.
Colored my flowers using copic collections:

Once colored I trimmed very carefully around the image and added dimensionals to the back. Stamped the sentiment onto more classic white cardstock and die cut out using Spellbinders Classic ovals and scalloped ovals. The base is using Grand Cirlces which I added some scored lines to the top and bottom. Designer paper is from my stash and I can't remember what pack as it was a loose piece with a base of Kraft cardstock. Did you know we got classic Kraft and classic Black cardstock in the store? Yippee! Added some white lace trim and some satin finish peach ribbon to the panel. Two Candi Iced sugar gems and voila! Thanks for stopping by to see me today.

Added our fun Die-Lights Banner Border die to the edge and cut one out to add as a fun tab on the side. My charm is the little fish from the Boys Charm Collections tied off with some jute twine. This designer paper I have had in my stash for ever it seems and finally thought it would work with this image. Voila!

My flowers were colored using copic collections:

Once colored I decided to try something and took our new Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass and dry embossed instead of cut out the shape. I just love when I try soemthing and it turns out great, this looks awesome I think. Totally COOL! Added some white pearls to the side of the embossed frame. Then some of our Color Made Easy Sunflower primrose ribbon for a ribbon bow that I tied off with some ivory jute and a Color Made Easy Sunflower button. Voila! Have a fabulous birthday Jan Marie!

Christmas Rejoice

Another Christmas card done and I am happy. You can play along with us each month in the Dirty Dozen Fan Club Forum found HERE. We would love to see your Christmas creations. This months challenge is May I Case You. Find a Christmas creation and case it, be sure to give us a link to your original card you cased. I choose Cheryls Rejoice card to case today. In a nut shell I kept the stamp, frame shape and textured panel. I changed all the rest. Cheryls is a very sweet friend and I adore her work. Here are the details on my creation.
I stamped out Rejoice onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.
Colored with copic collections:

Grabbed my Romantic Rectangles for the base frame design and cut it out using Color Made Easy True Blue collection. Also die cut out my base frame and then added a layer of the same color behind the panel.

Used swiss dots on more classic white cardstock for some texture as Cheryl did. Can't have a card without some ribbon and lace. So I grabbed the crochet white lace and some Color Made Easy true Blue Delft ribbon to tie off my bow. Attached a Color Made Easy Emerald Coast button and some ivory jute twine, scattered a few white pearls around the corners and voila! Hope you have a fabulous day!

WOJ Walking the dog

I wish I looked this cute when I walked Ranger everyday but alas I don't. ha! Today my creation is for  the Whiff Of Joy #148 Anything Goes challenge over on the Whiff Of Joy Blog. Grabbed the adorable new set called Maya's Best Friend and created today. Maya is stamped onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink and colored with various copic markers. Decided to give her dress and hat ribbon a little bit of flair with some polka dots using my copic colorless blender pen and I think it turned out totally cute!
After she was colored I cut around the image so that I could pop her up on dimensionals. Created a shaped card using Spellbinders die and some fun paper from Theresa Collins Spring Fling paper pack. Added my heart lace trim and a ribbon bow and voila. Adorable or what? Hope you can play along with us today!

FTTC208 Florals in red

This weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge FTTC208 is brought to us by Denise and her challenge this week is to use red in your creation. Be sure to check out the Flourishes blog for the challenge details and linking your creation.
So you must be wondering why once again is her flowers upside? Well I created both my cards at the same time so when one is upside down they all end up, upside down. HA!  I really have to say this whole upside down flower thing has been hilarious all around for me. I am not too worried about flower police or anything its just pure funny in my mind. Enough of my silliness onto my creation details. I stamped my Old Fashioned Florals onto classic white cardstock spaced apart using memento tuxedo black ink.
There were several copic collections used to color each set of flowers:

Once colored then I went to work on the frames that I wanted to create using Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames. They are die cut out using the Color Made Easy Rich Browns collection paper. But before I removed each piece from the die I cut around the inside of the die frame with a sharp blade so the center would come out and it would be a frame when done.

Each frame is popped up on dimensionals and added pearls to the sides. My panel is layered onto some red gingham paper and then more of the Color Made Easy Rich Browns cardstock. I tied off a Color Made Easy Crocus Lavendar ribbon bow using some ivory jute along with a Color Made Easy Sunflower button. Then added a quick sentiment tag and voila! Hope you get to play along with us this week! Have a wonderful day.

Valentine Treat Box

Supplies

Here is the supplies you will need for your box. 2 8x11 sheets of solid color paper, 1 sheet of designer paper, Desired shape in 3 stages (Spellbinders Labels One used here) , adhesive and embellishments

Step 1

Die cut (2 pieces) the lid and the base using the largest shape you choose. I am using Spellbinders Label one shape. Die cut  the designer piece in the second largest shape. Set aside these pieces for now

Step 2

To create the box lid and base, you will need 2 piece of solid color paper. Cut both pieces of card stock 4x4 inches. Once cut score at 1/2 inch on all 4 sides of each piece of paper as shown. Fold the edges, cut the two ends to create the tabs for the box

Step 3

Add adhesive to the little tabs and to the bottom of each box. This is what will adhere to your die shapes we cut

Step 4

Remove ONLY the side tabs to create your box. Leave the large strips to adhere later. See picture

Step 5

Once both boxes are created remove the center adhesive from one and center onto the die shape used

Step 6

When adding the box to the lid portion place the box onto of the bottom as shown above. This works better when attaching the lid and centering all edges evenly

Step 7

The box should look like this and ready to decorate

Step 8

My final creation all decorated. Image used is Beep Beep, I love you. I added some lace trim and ribbon along with some pearls for fun. The flowers and his heart have a little bit of sparkle added to them. Hope you enjoy your new Valentine box.
