As the saying goes... "Play Ball"

Are you ready for a little ball? We sure are with this fun sports set called Play Ball. Check out the behind the scenes with Marcy on the Power Poppy Blog

This set is just perfect right now as Baseball is coming to a end for school and then summer ball starts for us. If you live in Texas you have ball all year long... yikes!  I have a very simple thank you card created to look like the baseball itself. I stamped the threads onto white card stock and put the thanks in the center. Layered that up on some red card stock die cut in Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles large. Voila!

You're Special

Welcome to our Sneak Peeks for Power Poppy's June Release. We are excited to share this months stamps and creations with you. Marcy has some wonderful insight behind each of the sets this month if you are interested, check out the Power Poppy Blog.

This Lavender is so delicate looking don't you think? The one thing I don't care for with the flower itself is all the bee's.  Hard to enjoy when you are swatting the things away as you smell. hee hee   I am sorta kidding.  I have them stamped out onto white card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with Various Copic markers. I then layered the image panel onto lavendar card stock and added dimensionals to the back.
Die cut a fancy edge with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One and tied a ribbon bow around the base. Added a few flourished pearls to the base layer and then layered on more lavender card stock. Voila!

June teaser from Power Poppy

The sneaks are getting their final touches for you as we get ready for our June release. Be sure to check back in tomorrow! Have a great day!

Quick birthday card

Nothing like last minute "Hey mom, so and so parties tonight and I need a card" GASP!!!  So this is what I whipped out. Nothing special I know, but I can't work under this pressure. ha ha

This actually gives me a cool idea for a few future birthday cards. I used the Die Lights Numbers for the 13 in the corner and then the Star Nested for the balloon looking idea. The birthday boy actually thought this was super cool, so I didn't feel too bad. However my boys were telling him how much "cooler" it could look. Nothing like ratting me out! Thanks boys.... ha ha

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Friendship Window

Good morning! Today I have a Window Card for you and a tutorial if you want over on the Sweetandclassic site. This is my window card using Sentiments Collection 3 from ODBD Stamps. Nothing too lavish as the sentiment is on the inside and the front is all decorated with flowers and flourishes.
These beautiful blooms are from my friend Pat, that I layered over  Fancy Foliage ODBD Custom die. Nothing to it and looks so pretty don't you think? I hope you have a wonderful day!

FS381 Soothing Butterflies

This weeks Featured Stamper 381 is Peggy aka jasonw1. If you want flowers and elegance this is it ladies as her gallery is full of beauty. Since my mojo seems to have left my brain I decided not to go with a flower and ruin her beautiful creation. Instead I choose this very delicate and pretty butterfly swirls to case. Kept the over all design, butterflies and textures. Change the butterfly die, background to dots and added a ribbon bow.
I received my new Large Butterflies Die-light last week and only got to play a little with them. I like the soft feeling this has with the added pearls to the center. Very simple and sweet. Hopefully my mojo comes back tomorrow as I have the whole day to stamp. Yea!!!  Hope you get a chance to play along this week. Have a wonderful day!

Blank Butterfly

Evening! Ever have one of those nights you just can't seem to fall asleep? I decided to come in here and stamp and see if that helps settle the ole brain a bit so I can fall asleep. Lately I am in need of some blank notecards, and I received my new Large Butterflies Die-Light to play with. I used two of the dies in the set. One in the brilliant blue card stock for the base and a second one with the white card stock. I like how the wings are pulled out and popped up with just a few rhinestones to finish it off. Voila!  I think I need to head to bed now. ha ha  Good night!

Lace Scraps

Supplies

Ribbon, scissors, stamp set, decorative dies, designer paper, adhesive and lace scraps.

Step 1

Stamp and die cut your desired panels. Here I used Glory colored with Copic markers. Die cut using Vintage Labels with the base being Timeless Rectangles. Depending on the size of your scraps you might need to play around with the size of your card. Standard A2 cards always seem to work for this technique.

Step 2

Adhere lace scraps to the front of  designer paper, leaving enough room to secure around to the back. Wrap around and secure to the back

Step 3

Add a piece of ribbon to the top of the lace across the middle and secure to the back. This helps hide the lace edge and seams when complete. Add decorative panel using dimensionals centered on card front. Decorate as desired

Step 4

Here is my final card. See the lace is sneaking out the sides and you would never know it was scraps. Its a great way to save your scraps and add a little element to your cards all in one. I have a few flourished pearls added to the corners. Enjoy!

ODBD Rewind for you

Welcome to Our Daily Bread designs May rewind. I can't believe the month is half over. Of course it has been a blur for us with our schedule. School is out here in a few weeks even. EEK!!!  Anyways... I have a pretty blue creation today using Glory. :-)

Have snippets of lace trim you want save and use? Check out my Lace Scraps tutorial! These Glory flowers are just wonderful and so easy to color. After colored they are die cut using Vintage Labels ODBD custom die, with dimensionals added to the back. Can you tell this is my new favorite die lately?  :-)  A few flourished pearls in the corners to finish it off and voila!

Yellow Tulips

I know what your thinking... Tulips again! I can't help it okay, I need help. Does anyone know the number for Tulips AA? ha ha   The Tulips Digi is going away here soon, if you have not purchased yours yet I would suggest getting right over there and fix that issue.  :-)   We have a gallery full of beautiful creations if you want more than my ideas. Check out Power Poppy Pinterest gallery and while you are there follow us!
Rather simple design today as I die cut the Tulips with an oval shape, layered onto a Spellbinders decorative oval shape. The flowers are colored with Copics and for fun I tired the speckled coloring and shading around the flowers that I see around blog land. Its a rather cool touch, but not sure I got it right?? A little scoring around the base and a few jewels. Voila!  Have a wonderful day!

Tea anyone?

Good Morning. A little something to share with you today that I created for a friend. This is a teapot shaped tea holder. I have the complete tutorial and PDF for you over at the SweetandClassic site under Teapot Box tutorial.
This is a fun little gift or even a great party favor. No stamping on this one which makes for quick design over all. I added textures to the template itself with the swiss dots folder with some scrap designer paper added the front with a lace trim under lay. My sentiment is from Azalea stamp set that is popped up on a dimensional. Added a ribbon bow tied off with a button and twine combo. A pearl for the teapot lid and voila! Enjoy creating your own! Have a great day.

Mothers Day Azalea's

Happy Mother's day! This week's Featured Stamper 379 is Nancy aka NancyK. Nancy's gallery is full of clean and crisp creations that I am sure you have seen. If not you are in for a treat today. So many that caught my attention to case, but I choose this Blue Black Eyed Susan creation. The color blue drew me first (imagine that) and the heart shaped flowers. I kept the heart shape, over all design and two colors. Changed the stamp, color and sentiment placement.

Well my favorite color might be blue, but my Mother in-laws is not so I changed the color to her favorite lavendar. Since I didn't have a heart shaped flower handy I went ahead and changed the shape from circle to a heart using ODBD Ornate Hearts Die. Masked my Azalea flower along the side of the heart and added my sentiment to the left side of the heart. Kept the layers and added my ribbon to the base shape. For my textured panel I used swiss dots and added some jewels. Voila! I hope you can play along this week!

We are celebrating Mother's day with  my parents, my in-laws, my youngest sister (new mom) and her in-laws. A large gathering to be thankful for the hard work all us mother's do for our families. Hope you have a wonderful day with yours! See you back here tomorrow!

Nugget Purse treat

These are great for women retreats,  teachers or parties. Original idea from my friend Shelly aka papermoon04

Supplies

Chocolate nugget, hole punch, ribbon, card stock, desired decorative edge die or scissors and adhesive

Step 1

Cut a piece of card stock or designer paper 4 1/4 inch length x 1 1/2 inch width. Score at 1 1/4 inch, 2 1/4 inch and 3 1/4 inch. pre fold your score lines. I used double sided decorative paper for fun. You can certainly use solid card stock and stamp to decorate as well

Step 2

Add a decorative edge with dies or scissors to the end with the 1 1/2 inch size. Here I held the Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One for my edge with a piece of tape so it wouldn't move when I die cut it.

Step 3

Punch two holes right on the score lines above the die cut edge.

Step 4

Place ribbon through the holes to create purse handle. Tie into a knot as shown. The flap will fit right in front of these knots when you fold your purse into a triangle.

Step 5

This is a side view so you can see how the fold looks when placed in front of the knots. Add a glue dot to the front flap to keep closed. Finish decorating and slide your chocolate nugget into purse

Step 6

Here is the final nugget purse with a prima my friend Pat made me. I have actually made over 200 of these little purses for a few woman's retreats. Enjoy!

Tulip card bag

Happy Friday! I am ready for a busy weekend, how about you? Before you head off for your weekend of fun Power Poppy has a fun challenge for you today! For all the details see the Power Poppy Blog and see where you will link up your creations as well. Hope you get a chance to play along!
Well my Tulips out front looked a lot like this when they were dieing all yellow losing that beautiful rich purple color. Fun challenge with the colors I thought and the Tulips were perfect for it. I sponged around my Spellbinders Decorative labels Twenty Two before I removed the die with lavendar ink. This is a white cellophane bag with the card insert on the inside. Wrapped the ribbon and lace around the base on the front and tied a bow. Voila!
