Let it Snow...

Hi  all -- time for day two of Flourishes fabulous sneak peeks for October! Today, it's all about the whimsy of those winter months when the temperature drops and the flakes start to fly!

These whimsical snow flakes are just ready and waiting to be added to all of your winter and holiday themed creations! These hand-drawn flakes, created by Marcella Hawley, offer a dash of charm and style. This 4" by 6" set also offers three scripted sentiments that will give your cards the perfect punch.

And, what's more? This set is taking center stage in Flourishes brand new Class In A Box Kit for October! Here's a peek!

This rustic card kit with country charm comes with the stamp set, plus all the pre-cut paper, embellishments, trim and ribbon needed to make 6 cards -- two each of three designs! Just stamp, and put these beauties together. It's quick and easy card inspiration delivered right to your door! When you're done, save the full-color, glossy instructions to make all of these cards on your own in the future! This kit also features the 6" by 6" paper pack by Bazzill called Nordic Pines. What fun!
Yep a Christmas card gift set. I found this fun Silhouette Vintage Mailbox file and had to play with it. My mail box is using Crumb Cake card stock, after all the cuts were made I embossed Handmade Snowflakes randomly in white embossing powder.
Then to make the snowflakes stand out a bit more I took Copic Collection Iced Aqua and highlighted in between the flakes. My handle on the box is created with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One die, that is die cut on both ends to make a beautiful handle. For my card I took one of the snowflakes and stamped it in the center of my Classic White Card Stock using tempting turquoise ink. My sentiment is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Die cut Spellbinders A2 Bracket Border One along the bottom edge. Tied off some Color Made Easy Emerald Coast teal blue ribbon and added a pave blue jewel to the center of my snowflake. Voila! This also fits the Challenge Christmas this month and your chance to win some Flourishes Goodies.
The Design Team created some wonderful creations showing off these Handmade Snowflakes! While you're out and about, don't forget about....

My little cute cat image is called Maya's Kitty on pumpkin that is colored with Copic markers and cut out. Added some extra leaves with Die-Light Leaves Trio and some sparkle to the leaves. Voila!  When it comes to 3D projects or shaped cards you don't have to ask me twice. Most of you that visit my blog are familiar with me and these two topics. :-)  The boys have 4 teachers each this year being that they are in middle school which means... I need to get to work EARLY on gifts for each of them. Below is a photo of what I am going to be working on. A beautiful container to hold not only their cards but their gift tags as well.
This is the card and the gift tags that one of the teachers will receive. My sentiments are from the stamp set Trimmed With Love. My tags are using our Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass and Victorian Window dies. The poinsettia is Spellbinders from a few years ago and still a favorite of mine. This paper is a beautiful blue and creamy color that I adore called Bo Bunny Powder Mountain that I think is last years?? Either way I bought two packs so I can complete these gift sets. hee hee
The sentiments are stamped using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Classic white cardstock. The die shapes are using our Color Made Easy True Blue cardstock. Tied some of our Color Made Easy True Blue ribbon Dusk and Ivory for the tag top with a wooden button.

My box is using a Silhouette Cut file called 3D Stationary Box. I do like this new file and it will be used quite a bit this year. Added the matching Bo Bunny cardstock to the outside. Here is the full box itself below.

WOJ Watering Can

Over on the Whiff OF Joy Blog today it is time for our Monthly Theme. Several of the Design Team are showing off some table decorations ideas and creations for you. Check out the WOJ blog for all of the Design Teams creations.
Now is this not the cutest table decoration? I used the Watering Can file from Silhouette for my decoration. My image is the adorable Henry, You Have Green Thumbs that I stamped onto classic white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colored my image with various copic markers.
My designer paper is from the October Afternoon 9 to 5 paper pack. The fun Picket Fence Die-Light was perfect for the bottom of my watering can. Added a few brads and tied off my little grow charm with some twine. The licorice is a huge hit with the kids especially the part ran through the spout to look like water. hee hee   Hope you have a wonderful day!

Surprise 2013

Finally! Today is the day we are going to surprise our kids and the kids of our friends on the trip we have been planning and working on for the last few years. Back in 2008 we had the blessing of being able to go to Disney World for the first time EVER! We went with some great friends of ours and had the best time as you can imagine. Since then we have been saving and planning on going again and hitting Lego Land, Sea World and Universal all in the same trip if we can. Well today we are able to surprise the kids with the news and later this year we are getting to go on this trip.
This is what the kids will get to open to reveal the news. Sassy Cheryl's has this adorable new digi called We're All Ears that I bought and we had printed at my friends house. Added a film strip from my Silhouette machine to the edges and colored the image with copics. The picture above would not come out, it kept getting a glare on it. It is a picture of us all on our first trip. The kids are HUGE compared to that just 5 years ago. Oh my goodness I cried when I looked at the pictures. They are all so grown now, it makes this even better to be able to go again. There is a spot at the bottom for this years picture to be added.

Here is a closer view of the images. I made them roughly the size of each of the kids and colored their hair according to each kid. And yes the twins are exactly the same except one is a smidge taller as they are in real life. Otherwise I would hear about it. ha ha   Made two of these one for them and one for us to keep.

Thanks for sharing in my excitement. Have a fabulous day!

FS308 Say Cheese

This weeks Featured Stamper 308 is Sabrina aka cook22. Sabrina has a large gallery and lots of great creations. I choose this meece birthday card to case. I kept with a mice and camera image, kept the simplicity in design and the photo corners. I changed the stamp itself, and added the film strip to the design.
I stamped my Say Cheese House Mouse image onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. He is colored with copic markers then layered up on dimensionals. My Silhouette machine was calling me to print out the film strip for an added touch to the camera. A few pearls and two photo corners and voila! Hope you can play along with us this week! Have a great day!

Friday Favorites at Flourishes

**********Exciting News and Blog Candy below this post*************

Happy Friday! I am always looking forward to the weekend's in December as we are busy but it is a good busy. No snow yet but it's cold enough for some, kids are wanting it. ha!  Today is Flourishes Favorites. There are a ton of things lately to get done so I went simple today and went with no stamping for the most part!

I grabbed my In and Out Just Because set and took just the sentiment part for my creation. My sentiment and paper is our classic white cardstock, ofcourse using memento tuxedo black ink. Added a pearl to the tag end. The Silhouette machine is fabulous with all the different files and things you can buy, this film strip is one of my favorites and was perfect for my sentiment. Added alittle bit of flourishes with the Cherry Lynn die and then finished it off with a Prima roset. Voila! Took me maybe 5 minute if you don't count he machine cutting out the film strip.  hee hee

Fun Christmas Projects

Are you ready to see some adorable projects? Flourishes received the new Silhouette Cameo a few months ago and I have been working on playing when I can. This machine is wonderful and has some really fun designs you can purchase. Of course the coolest thing is that we have Cut Files that fit our stamp sets that so you can use the Silhouette machine for less teadious cutting! ha!  Also if you don't have the machine we do offer the SVG Files that match our stamp sets as well. A win win for everyone.
I found these fun round boxes through Silhouettes site a 3.5 and a 5 inch round box. So what is there to create for the holidays? Some fun goodie boxes!
This first one is a fun snowman with a hat. I think this is so adorable! My bottom  was cut out with blue paper and then the hat is the small box that I attached to a large circle die cut from my Spellbinders Grand Circles. I actually taped the top box upside down so you can hide the lid with some solid white wrinkled ribbon and foiled leaf ribbon. My greenery is from Poinsettia and Pine that I colored using copic collections:

My tag was added with metallic string and the sentiment is stamped onto our tailor made classic tag from out Warm Winter Wishes Stamp set. He has two buttons for his eyes, a hand cut carrot for the nose and his smile is using Candi Iced gems. The insides I will line with wax paper before I place my homemade goodies inside before delivering that way they can keep the box for years to come.
A much quicker and easier box with a santa look to him. Flipped the top box upright and added the white for his belly and shirt. My ribbon is the faux scalloped black with our Tailor made classic tag as the buckle. I had to punch a side hole as there is just the one end in the tag itself. Added some Candi saville gems for the buttons and my sentiment from Santa I believe! Voila some easy peasy gift ideas for you! Thanks for stopping by today.

Photo Finish birthday

The boys had a birthday party this weekend and the boy loves cars. They wanted me to keep after I made it, ha! The adorable Henry's Racecar from Whiff of Joy was perfect for this birthday party. Stamped out the racecar onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. Colored with copic markers then cut out and popped up on dimensionals. My film strip was made using the Silhouette cameo machine . This machine has a ton of files you can purchase and use over and over. I really do love this machine. My flags and sentiment are from At the Races from Clear Dollar Stamps. A few brads and voila a Photo Finish Birthday card! Have a fabulous day!

Just a note and box

Happy Monday! Today I have a little gift and note card that is for the boys teacher. School starts tomorrow, so what better way to show the teacher we appreciate her than with a first day of school treat! Before I go into the details on this darling little box, check out Flourishes Blog today, our talented Designer Cindy has a tutorial on how to create this darling box using our Silhouette cameo.
We have a Silhouette file for the beautiful Autumn Blossoms stamp set and this was perfect for the design on the outside of my box. I let the machine cut out my shapes onto Classic White Cardstock, then I stamped the single blossom using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the matching shape. I also stamped another of the same blossom for my card. For the box I choose the Color Made Easy Pistachio Collection for my cardstock. This green is just yummy! While the Silhouette machine is cutting out the box I finish coloring the blossoms that are stamped out using Copic Collections

My card has some of the fabulous matching Color Made Easy Pistachio ribbon in Iced Lime with an added finishing touches silver ribbon slider. So card is now finished, head on over to the box as it is done. I fold up the box close the top up with some more of the Iced Lime ribbon with a bow. Then added my blossom that was already cut out and colored to the front panel with a few pearls and voila. Added a few of the treats I bought and a sweet little treat for the first day of school.
Tomorrow will be exciting as the kids are ready to go back to school. I however will be over at my parents helping them with what they need for the day and canning my stewed tomatoes. So a messy and hardworking day for me. ha! Hope you have a wonderful day!
