Day 1 Love and Lace

Welcome to Day 1 of Flourishes Sneak Peeks for Jan. yep the new year is here and we have a fabulous release awaiting your eyes. Today we are showing you the wonderful sets Angelic Love and a background Clouds.
This first picture I have a sample of what will be at the Sportman's Show this weekend. Yes you read that right the Sportman's Show. My DH is a licensed Firearms instructor and they put on a couples class every Valentines day. So I make up a sign up card for display every year and this year I used Angelic Love. We give the ladies the chocolate box, as well we do dinner for the class and the ladies get flowers. Its a way to give her the Valentines she wants and him his too. Its really a fun class. Now you are wondering where are the chocolates. I noticed while taking the photo that I FORGOT to put them in the box before I tied them up with the ribbon bow. I had worked so hard on the bow that I will have to make this as my sample for my desk. lol Oh well...

Below I have a card with non traditional colors for a Valentines day card. I wanted to go more with a springy feel to this card. I used the heart nessties for the panels and the swiss dots for the bg.
Now check out the fabulous sneaks from:

For those furry ones in our family

Clear Dollar Stamps came out with the sweetest sympathy set for the loss of your pet. Its called Pet Sympathy. I now have a set for those cards that are always so hard to make for a loved one lost.
I made what I thought would look like your loved one looking through the clouds down at you. I added some sparkle to the ring and the clouds. The panel is popped up on dimensionals as well. Turned out sweet don't you think?
Busy week this week... First be sure to check out Totally Stampalicious Blog, tomorrow they have a sale going on for 15% off. AND their new release will be available on Friday the SAME DAY we show you the Samples.
Speaking of Sneaks Flourishes is starting their Jan Sneaks this Wed. So be sure to check back here for those as well Friday I will have 2 posts as you can see! WHOHOOO! Have a GREAT day!

Feel the love....

That's right... Time for Flourishes Pre-release challenge and your chance to WIN the whole release next week. What do you have to do for a chance? Read more details over on the newsletter but here is the basic outline:
***This challenge is all about feeling the love in our card making! The kind of project, color and feel is all up to you, just make sure that whatever type of card you make -- it's perfect for the season of LOVE! ***
I pulled out my Lace Heart set for this card. Instead of the traditional red, pinks and such I went with the baby blue and white for a more masculine feel. I added some crochet lace ribbon with a satin blue. And finished it off with a few pearls. Check out what the DT did for the challenge:

For a sweet friend

This is for a sweet friend of mine who lost her mom this week. We are too far apart for me to hug and help support her there, but I can from a far pray for her and the family and give cyber hugs.....

One thing I would like to try and get myself back into doing this year would be some of the challenges. Now there is a LOT more challenges out there then I have time for, but if I can do at least 3 challenges a week I am going to be excited. As well my friend Leslie is trying to pull older sets out once a month and make a card a week with that set. Kinda like refreshing your older sets. So I am on another mission to do just this as well. :0) Leslie I am going to TRY....
So with that being said, I pulled out my SU set Memory of the Heart. It is one of my favorite sets that is from LONG ago. I combined this with yes a *challenge* over on Mercy's blog her sketch challenge. I didn't say my challenges would be the same week of the challenge, just a challenge. LOL Hey I am trying and that is what is important... right? Luckily this one is in the same week. I hope you have a wonderful day.

We are still to hit the 200 subscriber mark for a $100 gift certificate to the Totally Stampalicious store. What better reason to subscribe. Head on over to the blog and read all about it.
Now onto the card. I went with Willameana and used some of the felt snowflakes that Linda had sent me. I added some polkadots to her jammies for fun. She just makes you think... I should pray for her parents. bawhahaha

First birthday card of 2010

I hope you all had a wonderful first couple days of the New Year. Anyone make those nasty resolutions? I never do, they never seem to stick real well. ha-ha
I have a few birthdays coming up this month, so I thought I would get a start on the first one. I used this adorable House Mouse stamp. They just look so chubby and happy. I would too if I could eat like them and not worry about a pound. lol I used the spellbinders nessties label 7 for the framing and just a little bit of piercing, nothing fancy. I like how this turned out with the colors.
Lots of new and fun things coming your way this month, so stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!
