Star Spangled Banner Challenge

Happy Friday! It is that time again for Flourishes pre-Challenge and your chance to win our ENTIRE release. We have some fun planned for you next week. This is all assuming that Blogger doesn't go all crazy on us all again. EEK! The Star Spangled Banner challenge is: As we get ready to honor the Independence of the good ole U.S.A, let's see your patroitism shine! Use red, white and blue if you hail from the United States. If you live in other parts of the world, turn to your nation's flag for inspiration! Be sure to check back on the Flourishes blog to link your creations.

I made two cards for this challenge. This was my late night creation when I couldn't sleep. I really love the Hearts and Flowers set. Added a bit of the red crochet ribbon I found at the LSS with some new bakers twine I bought. Lots of sparkle added to flowers but couldn't get it in the photo very well.
This one is with Kids Play and I tried something new that I saw somewhere. I stamped the image in black, then I took a color and traced around each image. Not real easy to see in the photo but it looks okay. I may have done it wrong but I think it was worth a try. Sponged some clouds around the image but left the back panel white. Added the sentiment with some more of the bakers twine to tie it off.

These are so cute, it makes me want to stamp some traditional red, white, and blue. Love the idea of tracing around the silhouette. Might have to try that. The blue gingham is awesome!
