Friday Favorites at Flourishes

**********Exciting News and Blog Candy below this post*************

Happy Friday! I am always looking forward to the weekend's in December as we are busy but it is a good busy. No snow yet but it's cold enough for some, kids are wanting it. ha!  Today is Flourishes Favorites. There are a ton of things lately to get done so I went simple today and went with no stamping for the most part!

I grabbed my In and Out Just Because set and took just the sentiment part for my creation. My sentiment and paper is our classic white cardstock, ofcourse using memento tuxedo black ink. Added a pearl to the tag end. The Silhouette machine is fabulous with all the different files and things you can buy, this film strip is one of my favorites and was perfect for my sentiment. Added alittle bit of flourishes with the Cherry Lynn die and then finished it off with a Prima roset. Voila! Took me maybe 5 minute if you don't count he machine cutting out the film strip.  hee hee

Exciting News and Blog Candy

I am so excited! I finally get to share my wonderful news! I am one of the newest designers for Whiff Of Joy Stamps! WHOHOO!!!! This is a super talented design team and I feel honored to be joining them for 2013. I was introduced to WOJ over a year ago and fell in love with them right away. Henry the mouse is just so adorable and now the new line of Maya is just stealing my heart as well. WOJ was actually opened 4 years ago, where was I the other 3 years? I am super excited and glad I finally get to shout it out to you all! hee hee
My creation here is a Sneak Peek of the new set coming out Dec. 3rd. This is from the Winter Kit 2012 that is being turned into a Digi set! See I told you I had a heard it was going Digi. hee hee
This is a fun little hot cocoa mitten that I made. I hand drew the mitten shape a year ago and have kept it in the folder for future uses. Once my mitten was cut out I ran it through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. Added alittle designer paper from Echo Park Christmas this n that and faux stitched around the edges. I stamped the little santa henry onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. Colored with various copic markers and die cut out using Spellbinders Classic circles. My sentiment is part of one of the sentiments in the set, I just used the Merry Christmas part for this project. Added a few felt snowflakes underneath and adhere to the mitten. Tied some ribbon and a few bells with silver cord to finish it off! Adorable isn't it? Oh and some fairy dust for sparkle.

To Celebrate my exciting news I have 2 Whiff of Joy Stamps along with a Spellbinders die and a variety of ribbons! Simply leave a comment on this post and you will be entered into the drawing. You have until Sunday Dec. 2nd at 3 pm Central time to enter. I will announce the winner with the New Release Post on Monday Dec 3rd! Good Luck!

Snuggled by the fire

We don't have a fireplace but you can guarantee that if we did this is where I would be just like this little guy! ha!  Had a little time today so I pulled out my Whiff of Joy Winter secret kit that I got in the mail a few weeks ago and played. And I heard that they were going to put this set into Digi's in December. Whohoo for all you Digi girls out there! I alas still have to use the rubbah!
I stamped the mouse image onto classic white cardstcoking using memento tuxedo black ink. Colored the image with various copic markers. My paper is from the Echo Park's Winter Wishes pack that had colors I liked. Layered some white crochet ribbon with some of the lavendar plaid ribbon and tied my bow off with some silver cord and button combo! My holly in the fireplace and all around the border have fairy dust for some sparkle. Hard to see in the photo really well. Sentiment free so it can be for any day in the month of December! Thanks for stopping in today! Happy Stamping!

Baby card Rahan

Good Morning! I can't believe it is Wednesday already... where is the time going? Today I have a sweet baby card for you that I made for one of the girls at DH work that was requested. Several cards have been made for girls and they wanted a baby boy one this time. I pulled out my Letters in Blossoms set and stamped the letters out onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.
My letters are colored using copic collections:

My paper is from the Color Made Easy Collection True Blue and some general designer paper I had in my stash. Some fairy dust is added to the flowers for a hint of sparkle. My ribbon bow is tied off with some ivory jute and a button from the rich browns light collection. The tiny safety pins and blue buttons in the corner are from my general bin. I think this turned out super sweet for a baby boy card, don't you? Thanks for stopping in today. Hope you have a great day!

Cookie Gift Pouch and Cyber Monday Sale

Happy Monday! The house is all decorated for Christmas other than the tree. We get a live tree every year and we wait till about the second weekend to purchase that. However the rest of the house is festive and smelling like cinnamon. YUMO!  Today I have a fun little belly band Christmas cookie pouch to show you.
I stamped out the images from Fresh Baked cookies onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. I have colored the images with copic collections:

My shapes are using several spellbinders dies along with a felt snowflake hidden behind the main panel. I threaded some silver mettalic string though the picot circle. Wrapped some light blue plaid ribbon around the belly band and voila! A fun little gift for friends or teachers. The belly band is fun to make and I have a tutorial on how to make that in Flourishes Christmas Catalog 2012. This catalog has about 12 other tutorials from the design team as well. We only have a few left so don't miss out on this beautiful catalog and some fun gift ideas! Be sure to check out our Cyber Monday Sale

FS303 Joy to Allison

This weeks Featured Stamper 303 is Allison aka thecircleguru. Allison has a fantastic gallery for which I am very familiar with. I couldn't decide which card I was going to case from all the ones I have told her I was going to case in the past. ha!  I did decide on a recent one she created called Holly Boughs. I have kept the stamp set, theme, colors and sketch. I changed the black to red paper, changed my sentiment and left off the tab at the bottom.
My creation uses the stamp set Naturally Merry and stamped 3/4 of the image onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.

The holly is colored using copic collections:

This designer paper is a fun pack from Echo Park called Christmas This and That. I faux stitched around the edges and added some scallop edges as Allison has. Flourishes has added buttons to the store and this is from the Olive Collection. Added a bit of ivory jute to tie it all off. Hopefully you get a little time to stamp today! Have a wonderful day.

WOJ #143 Boys Christmas

Can you guess what challenge this is for? This is for two challenges actually. First is the Whiff of Joy #143 challenge. It is a photo challenge, here is the photo below. I loved the colors of blue, white and some darker brown. Then of course is the fun wintry feel to it.

This is also for the Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge for November More is More challenge. Create a simple version of your card and then another just all glammed up. If you play along we would love to see your creations, use keyword SCSCCNOV12 so we can find your creations on SCS.
My secret winter kit from Whiff of Joy was calling me so I took the sweet image of dad and son out and played today.
The images are stamped onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. Both versions have the blue and white with the winter theme. My more is more version is die cut using Spellbinders Curved Rectangles. I have layered the images onto some designer paper from Echo Park Winter Wishes paper pack. Some ribbon and lace trim on both creations. Very Easy peasy! Thanks for stopping in with me today. Have a great day.

Timeless Tuesday #196 Happy Place

On Flourishes Blog today is the Timeless Tuesday challenge #196 brought to us by Broni. Her challenge is Make a Happy card or project. Interpret as you wish for happy. Be sure to link your creations back over on Flourishes Blog.
I am thinking a beautiful country side is a happy place right now compared to my cold dreary weather we have. hee hee  This is a new set that we released last week called Dreaming of Florence that I stamped out onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.

My image is colored using copic collections:

Once colored I added a layer of Color Made Easy Pistachio Collection and then popped it up onto a paper doily. Then since my grapes are colored purple I grabbed some of the Color Made Easy Crocus collection paper and die cut out a Spellbinders Decorative oval to layer it under neath. Some faux stitching around the border for fun. My ribbon is from the Color Made Easy Pistachio collection that I tied my sentiment off using some ivory jute and added a pearl. Sneaked in a little bit of white lace trim for fun along the side of the ribbon too. What a fun challenge and I sure am in a happy place now! Don't forget the Gambler's Sale is at 25% right now. The New Release Bundle discount ends in a few days, don't miss your chance at the savings on the new release!
Hope you can play along this week. Have a wonderful day

HMF #133 Thankful for...

Good Morning! This House Mouse and Friends Blog Challenge #133 is Thankful For... Well our little mousie team is sure thankful for our teammate Paula and her new little one. So we are all making our creations for Paula and mailing those to her family with our prayers. This challenge is thankful for... You decide! Our Sponsors this challenge are House Mouse Designs with a $25 gift certificate and Di's Digi Downloads with a $10 gift certificate. I hope you can play along with us this week.
I stamped out my Baby Shoes onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. After coloring with copics I die cut Spellbinders classic circles in two layers that I popped up on a paper doily. The designer paper is some fun baby paper I bought this summer from Hobby Lobby. Faux stitched around the edges and then added some lace and ribbon combo. I tied a little safety pin charm to the bow and added a baby sentiment to the top. Paula Congrats again on the new bundle of joy! Enjoy this precious time with the family. Hugs! For everyone else I hope you have a wonderful week and hope you can play along with us in our Thankful for challenge!

Bloomin Aussies

Hi all! We sincerely hope you've enjoyed all the sneak peeks this week! Today, we get to take the lid off the entire release AND share some fun things that are also in the Flourishes store as well! Are you ready? We are so excited we can hardly stand it! For starters -- all the stamp sets that we have shown off this week are now in the Flourishes store HERE! Remember, you can take advantage too of the New Release Bundle and save 10% when you purchase all four sets in a bundle! Today, all the designers are showing off a set that was inspired by the Land Down Under! Yes, Flourishes Fans -- we are talking about Australia! Our own Kathy Jones, who hails from Australia, helped develop this set concept, which has two beautiful botanicals as the centerpiece of the set! We also have heard from many folks (Australians and Canadians alike) that they wish we offered a set that spelled greetings an a way that they were accustomed to - words like "colour," "favourite," "neighbour," and more! So, we put our thinking caps on and today, we introduce you to....
Take a trip to the land "Down Under" to see a pair of beautiful botanicals alive in this island continent. In this set called Bloomin' Aussie Florals, Artist Marcella Hawley brings the Golden Wattle and Sturt's Desert Rose to life with these illustrations and pairs them with true Aussie sentiments!
And.... to serve as the perfect partner to this set we offer....
A Silhouette Cameo Cut File to coordinate with this set! You'll find the new file HERE. And, if you click HERE, you will see the file in an .SVG format, to make it compatible with other digital cutting machines! We also have a cut file for the set we peeked yesterday called Stitched for You. You'll find the Silhouette file HERE and the SVG file HERE! Fun stuff!
You might think that this is the end of the excitement, but NO! We have more! Fresh off the manufacturing line comes a whole new line of custom dies! These aren't just any shapes. They are special! Why? Because in addition to being nested template dies custom created by Spellbinders Paper Arts exclusively for Flourishes, these dies all offer pierced accents! Say goodbye to piercing templates - these dies do it for you in one step! They are all a part of the Perfectly Pierced Collection! And, here's a peek!

Perfectly Pierced Classic Windows

Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals

Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass

Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames

You'll see our designers using these dies in their posts today - what fun! I know we'll get asked if stamp sets are on the way to coordinate with these beauties and the answer is undoubtedly - YES! We just knew that you didn't need a coordinating stamp set to use these dies and so, we wanted YOU to enjoy them NOW! :-)
Now for my creation! You know the beautiful thing about stamping is? You can do whatever you want for colors of images. This beautiful Bloomin Aussie flowers is typically pink, however I was in a blue and aqua mood.  :0)   Actually this didn't turn out quite like I had it pictured in my head. Not bad, just not what my head invisioned. I stamped out the flower onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. Several Copic Collections were used in coloring the image:

The background is using Spellbinders fancy lattice that I added some clear rhinestones to randomly. My cardstock is using the Color Made Easy Collection Emerald Coast. This beautiful ivory solid wrinkled ribbon with some lace trim tied off my sentiment tag.
Be sure to check out the creations from the Design Team Today and Happy Shopping!
