In a nutshell...

Needless to say my stamping is in waves lately and I had to force myself to sit down and create this weekend. I did manage to get a card done for a friend using this adorable House Mouse called Mice Wishes.  He is stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. Simple stitched rectangle of designer paper and some fun paper for the base. Wrapped lace and ribbon around before I adhered the mice panel. Added a button and twine to the sentiment tag and then some sequins and stickles to the water effect. Voila!

FS451 Lavendar friend

This weeks Featured Stamper 451 is Penny Strawberry, fun user name right.  She has a delightful gallery and lots to choose from for creations. I choose this Vandys Birthday card to case. I kept with the over all layout, similar flower stem, lace edges and jewels in the corner. Changed the flower, some of the colors and the panel is shorter. Enjoy your week!

These Easy Breezy Coneflowers are just so easy to print and color. They are colored with various copic markers then layered onto some dark eggplant card stock die cut in a beautiful borders trim. Added a piece of sheer ribbon down the side and a few jewels to the top corner. Super easy. Hope you have a great day!

Olive and Oak

Happy Friday! Power Poppy released the new Olive and Oak this week, did you see? What a fabulous fall image don't you think! So many option with this gorgeous image. You can find Olive and Oak in the store HERE

My creation is pretty straight forward with the bold colors of fall. The image is larger as I wanted it to be the focus. The sentiment is perfect from Good Thinking: Renewal stamped in the bottom corner. The background paper is actually a faux wood design but I covered most of it up. Not very good planning on my part I guess.  ;-)  The leaves have some added Suduko gel pen to them, however I can never get that to photo graph well. ugh!!! Then just a few sequins drops and a scallop edge, voila!

Berry Basket gifts

Good morning! This summer we ate a lot of the local fruits, especially berries. Yumo! These berries came in the standard green plastic baskets and I was thinking how can I alter them and use them. Well I came up with this Altered Berry Basket Tutorial so they can be put to use. Several of these will be going to the auction and I think a few to my neighbors. They are super easy to alter and make darling little gifts. The Power and Spark challenge this month is all about gift and giving too. Check it out and play along!

Here is a close up of the basket with the matching tag. All the tags are the same except maybe altering the base colors. These snowflakes are Snowflake Trio-Die light that is retired now, but any snowflake will work. Loving my new Dual Dotted Rectangle Dies! Layered them on some kraft tag die that has some matching gingham paper. My sentiment is from Poinsettia that has a fish tail tag. A few jewels as accents.

Here is a close up of the berry basket. I think it turned out super cute. I added a button and twine combo to the outside snowflakes to tie in the tags. Voila! Hope you have a few baskets you can alter too.  :-)

Life is better with friends

Good morning! Extra long weekend sure does make for a relaxing one. We did not have much on the calendar the last few days thankfully as we will be sure busy the next few weeks. I even got a little nap in on Saturday, gasp!  ;-) It was so nice... Anyways... Did you see the new Climbing Clematis digital release from Power Poppy?

I knew they were going to be blue as I have some in the back yard in blue and a deep purple colors that grow along the back porch. So blue it was going to be. These are printed on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. My new Lil' inkers Dual Dotted Rectangles Dies came in this week and I had to play! I just love this stitched like border they create, so fun! Added some stickels to the blooms and some sequins. Voila! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Altered Mini Bag

Supplies:

Adhesive, mini paper bag (3 inch x 4 inch) cord, desired dies and stamps, card stock, designer paper, scissors

Step 1:

Cut 2 pieces of solid card stock 3 3/4 length x 3 inch width. Cut 2 pieces of designer paper to fit the front of solid card stock, adhere to the front and back of bag. Set aside

Step 2:

Cut a piece of solid card stock 2 3/4 width x 3 1/2 inch length. Place desired die shown here (Curved Borders Two) in corner. Step 3:

Once the dies are lined up to match cut as desired. This is what it will look like. Set the solid piece aside as we will work with the water color piece only.

Cut out second image and adhere to front of desired panel and layer onto colored card stock we set aside. Adhere to front of mini bag and finish decorating as desired

Step 6:

Finished mini bag with matching gift
stamp set. Added a few sequins, sparkles
and silver cord. Enjoy!

Be Merry Gift bag and tags

Happy Friday! How did your first week of school go? The kids already have a bit of homework at our house, fun times! Did you see the new Power and Spark challenge is up over on the Power Poppy Blog. Miss Katie is challenging us to some gift giving. Here are the details:

Gifting from the Heart...This challenge is all about gift giving. Let's see your creative spin on a gift presentation or your own homemade gift. Stamp your own wrapping paper, make your own gift bags, tags, gift card holders, or any other crafty way of dressing up a present or making your own paper crafted gifts. Even though the holidays will be here before you know it, this is open for whatever occasion you wish!

Be sure to link up your creations on the PP Blog. I had some fun water coloring for the Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge earlier this week and it carried over into this challenge using Heaven and Nature sing stamp set. This adorable little bag I bought a few earlier this year and are perfect for little gifts. Check out my Altered Mini bag tutorial if you would like to try your own.

This is the front of the bag with just a few accents of silver cord and sequins. Inside I created a few matching tags using Heave and Nature Sing. This is a fun little gift for anyone, but I think I will be making a few of these for the boys teachers this year.  :-)

Retirement naps

He looks so stinkin happy napping doesn't he. hee hee  This is Hammock Nap that I bought a few weeks ago and just now inked up for a special friend who retired recently. This is late of course but I know Leslie will appreciate it after the fact.  :-)  He is stamped on white card stock and colored with various Copic markers. A little bit of texture to the green base behind the main panel and just a few brads for accents. Just wanted the image to be the focus of this adorable guy sleeping. He makes me smile. I hope you have a wonderful day!

September Christmas challenge

Morning! The Dirty Dozen September Christmas challenge is posted and it is: Did you water the tree? Those of us that have live Christmas tree's know that water is very important. So how about some water coloring this month? Or include an image with a water aspect or even a tree in your creation. Enjoy and have fun with it.

My watercolor paper had to be dusted off for this challenge and what a great time to play. Water color is suppose to have that subtle lighter edge to it and I always have trouble, as I tend to like the bright or darker coloring. A few of the leaves have a lighter side to them.. but not enough I can't help myself. :-)  This is Poinsettia that is stamped on the water color paper and I used an aqua pen to color. My sweet friend Katie sent me a gold pen a few months back and so I added a few gold touches to the edges and the edges of my sentiment panel. A gold bow and a few jewels to finish it off. Voila! I hope you get a chance to play this month.
Later today on the CardMaker Blog I have a post about button fun. Be sure to check it out! Have a wonderful day.
