Tis the Holly to be Jolly

Gasp! You know what I heard yesterday morning? The first Christmas song on the radio. Squeel.... My stomach did a little tingling and I was instantly excited! Usually I think you need to wait until after Thanksgiving to play the music on the radio, but it was so fun to hear a little jingle right then.  In my defense I create Christmas cards all year round so a little music isn't a surprise. Lately I have had sometime to create and I need to finish cards for a few of the girls orders and some tags. So be watching as I have more to come.  I will try to work in a few more of the fall and Thanksgiving cards for you though.  :-)

Who doesn't love this new Holly Golightly set? Swoon!!!!  The single holly sprig is stamped in the left corner and die cut with Lil Inkers rectangles die. Colored the holly with various Copic markers then layered over more of the My Minds Eye Cozy Christmas paper. Added a red die cut panel using ODBD Beautiful Borders die to the left edge. Stamped the sentiment and die cut with a Spellbinders Circle. Added the lovely sequins and sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Peaceful Chickabee

Welcome to Power Poppy Friday! Last week I showed you my Christmas version using Chickadee in Barberry and had started a fall colored one also. I finished my late fall/early winter sort of colored one and here he is.  This one is printed a little larger than the one last week and colored with various Copic markers.

I like the warm colors of this. Not everyone has winter like we do and why not, with ink and paper you can do whatever you would like. ha!  The designer paper is called Pepples that I layered onto some acorn cardstock. Just some of that hardware again to use in the corner and some small piercing along the bottom edge. A little bit of sparkle and sequins to finish it off, Voila!

Wonderful time

Morning and happy Wednesday! My creation today is using the beautiful new Glistening Paperwhites stamp. See more of the blue and browns today.  :-)  This is an older Spellbinders die that I used for the base shape in the tan colored cardstock with a blue base underneath.

Stamped my flowers and colored with various Copic markers then die cut with the matching shape. Layered some ribbon and lace trim before I adhered to the base of the card. Added a few pearls and some sparkle to finish it off, Voila! Have a fabulous day!

Christmas Wreath

Happy Tuesday and welcome to the newest Instant Garden release with a remix today called Bittersweet Wreath. Marcy has some inspiration behind this sweet wreath  today on the Power Poppy Blog

I went with a Christmas theme for my first one. hee hee  Surprised?!?  :-)  I do have a fall one colored up and finished but will share that later. The berries on this are a few different shades of blue and turquoise in the Copic family. A simple Spellbinders die cut edge with blue cardstock behind the edge. Silver cord with a single bell at the top and don't forget the sparkle and jewels. Voila!

Check out who played with ink and paper today:

Wishing you simple joys

Happy Monday! I bet you were wondering how did she get away with the whole release last week and not a single blue creation and the new sets? Well... it was hard but I forced myself to wait and create my blue and silver and brown cards for this week. LOL  Seriously... those are my go to colors for Christmas. Helps that my favorite color is blue but hey, its all good. if you missed the release and reveal last week be sure to hit the Power Poppy store or blog for all the newest goodies!

I have my first blue, silver and brown for you using Simple Joys. OoooHhhhh AaaaHhhh... hee hee  I heart this card all over when I see it! This is a larger 5x5 card so you can really focus on the image from Simple Joys. My image is colored with various Copic markers and a scored border around the edge. I forgot what paper pack this designer paper came from, might be an older one as I am really trying to use up what I have before I buy more. I tend to not use it as much as I should. Anyways, wrapped some lace ribbon and seam binding around the center. More of that hardware from CTMH that I bought years and years ago. Added some sequins and stickles, voila! Have a fantastic day!

Christmas Chickabee

Good morning! What a weekend as we had Homecoming and a football game. I am honored to say that Curtis was nominated for Freshmen Homecoming Prince this year. Yea! However he did not win, but what a honor to be nominated in the top three.  :-)  We lost the football game which stunk, but they played awesome! We only have two more games since we will not be making the playoff's this year. That is very new to us and let's just say this new league is a bit of a surprise. Just means we will come back next year even more determined to get back to playoff's! Anyways.... How about a little fat birdie Christmas card for you? hee hee

This adorable little guy is called Chickadee in Barberry from Power Poppy! Oh my what fun this is. I actually printed two of these and will color the other one up in a fall theme to share when its complete. Had to color up the good ole Christmas colors first. He is colored with various Copic markers and scored a border around the edge. Some designer paper from My Minds Eye Cozy Christmas pack for the base with a red panel down the edge. Stamped my sentiment from Simple Joys and punched with a circle punch. Added a little flag strip below for fun and some older embellishments that were called Candi dots to the top. Sparkle to the snow and voila! This is also fro the Dirty Dozen October Christmas challenge, Paper Love with a twist. Come play along with us! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Since I didn't get a chance to show of the new Action Santa I thought the release day would be perfect. Isn't he a hoot? Oh my what fun he is to color. After he was colored I die cut using a standard circle and layered onto two scalloped circles layered together. Another Spellbinders shape for the base with some red silk ribbon wrapped around the middle. Added my sentiment with a button and silver cord and sequins to finish it off. Voila!

Happiest Holidays Collection Day five: Glistening Paperwhites

Tell me you are not already adding this set to your shopping cart?!? Today is day five of our Happiest Holiday Collection at Power Poppy. What fun we have been having the last week. If you missed any of the days head over to the Power Poppy Blog to start at the beginning! This set is called Glistening Paperwhites. Be still my heart....

Marcy has inspiration behind this set as always on the Power Poppy Blog. Here is a snippet of what is behind this set. You can't have Christmas without boughs of beautiful greenery. This special grouping will breathe a whoosh of fresh winter air into your cardmaking, with an illustration of classic Paperwhites paired with Juniper and Seeded Eucalyptus. These natural elements would be shimmeringly lovely embossed in silver, gold, or blue metallic, dusted with glitter, colored in cool shades of green, blue, and ivory. Individual accent images of each of the components of the bough work on their own or as enhancements to the main image. Can you get enough of these sentiments? Six options to help you make cards for the most wonderful time of the year!

No doubt when I saw Glistening Paperwhites I felt a softer feel was needed first inking! hee hee  I love the soft feel of these colors and the silver and white together. Just looking at this makes me swoon. After I colored the beautiful blooms and stems I die cut using an oval shape. A Spellbinders die for the base with some designer paper for the base. Wrapped some silver cored around the left edge and tied my button off with more of the cord. Added a few pearls to the corner and some sparkles to finish it off. Voila!

Happiest Holiday Collection Day four: Fully Stocked

Morning! Welcome to day four of the Happiest Holiday collection release. Today is the fun Fully Stocked set to share with you. Missed any of the sneak peeks so far? Head back over to the Power Poppy Blog and catch up, you don't want to miss any of these new stamps.

Marcy's inspiration behind Fully Stocked set is over on the Power Poppy Blog. Here is a snippet for you: Folks, I could draw stockings every day, different themes, different patterns, different styles, all stuffed with goodies. Do you know HOW HARD IT WAS to narrow this down to only three? The stocking struggle is real. Luckily, each of these special stockings was carefully curated, decorated, and trimmed to the nines. Plus they're fully stocked and each one comes with a coordinating accent image. We have a gardener's dream with a journal, tools, tags, and trimmings, complete with mistletoe accent stamp. A vintage European-style linen stocking has sleigh bells, greens, gifts, and a pretty pear. Accent this one with the greenery-topped bell. Lastly, give the gift of childhood with the button-and-appliquéed stocking, filled with kid-centric delights. A group of buttons makes a nice background stamp. Three scripty sentiments work with all of the illustrations beautifully.

Is this stocking for the kids not adorable? Those buttons alone make me smile and I added two tiny real ones for this gift tag. The homespun Christmas feel of the designer paper seemed perfect for this stocking also from the My Minds Eye Cozy Christmas pad. I used Lil Inkers stitched rectangle dies for the tag layers. Cut around my stocking to pop it up on dimensionals and added a sentiment tag with another tiny button. Then some ribbon and twine button combo.  Oh and some sparkles was added to the stocking also. Voila!

Happiest Holiday Collection Day three: Holly Golightly

Good morning! Have you enjoyed all the sneak peeks of our Happiest Holiday Collection so far? Today is day three and I actually gasped when I saw this set. There is so many ideas with this set and yes they are jotted down with all my other ones. ha ha  whatever happen to the days when I could stamp my little heart out? :-)  Today is the fabulous Holly Golightly set.

A little snippet of what this set Holly Golightly is from Marcy and be sure to head over to the Power Poppy Blog for more inspiration behind this new set. A celebration of the essential ingredient of Christmas cheer: Holly! Done up three ways for a multitude of cardmaking options. Will you go with the hollyberry branch, used as a focal point, a bough, or a pattern piece? What about the sweet little Mason jar with boxwood and holly for a humble holiday scene? Or the happiest holly tag you ever did see, that works with a whole bunch of Holly Jolly sentiments? There’s even a "to", "from", and "with love" ready to start filling out those gift tags. Drawn from life using holly sprigs "borrowed" from the landscaping of our local Subway sandwich shop — they get so many more berries on the one's in my yard. I'm sure they'll understand when I bring them a card starring their shrub.

My creation is the first of many tags I will be making again this year. The girls put in their orders early as they need a few more than last year. yea! That means I will have to get mine done after all theirs, ha ha. This tag was colored with Copic markers and then cut around to place on a large die cut tag so I was able to layer some designer paper on the largest tag. Wrapped some sparkly ribbon around the designer paper and added a few pearls. Voila, easy peasy!

Happiest Holiday Collection Day One: Simple Joys

Good morning and welcome to day one of Power Poppy's Happiest Holiday Collection release. Once again Marcy has created magic with her pen and paper for us and you will not want to miss anything. Did you see the new Instant Garden release yesterday to kick off the sneak peeks? It is called Chickadee in Barberry and super cute with a chubby little bird. Excited to print that and start to color myself.  ;-)  After you hop along today and check out our Simple Joys creations you can go back and purchase and print the new digi to play with today. hee hee  Okay onto the first of our Happiest Holiday sneak peek with Simple Joys

Marcy has some inspiration behind this new one over on the Power Poppy Blog. Here is a little bit about the new set for you: Sometimes it’s the simplest trimmings that make for the merriest holiday touches. I envision grabbing the garden shears and stepping out the front door to clip any greenery within walking distance, picking up pinecones and holly, and placing it all in a gathering basket. Berry-studded branches are snipped and plunked into a vintage watering can, dressed with a festive baubles. I can see this scene next to the front door welcoming guests, or as a lively centerpiece, so wouldn't it make a fun image on a holiday card? Finally, a round ornament on a pine branch is ready to be stamped with any of the five sentiments that fit perfectly inside.

This set Simple Joys is awesome I tell you. I actually have a piece of paper with a few ideas jotted down on future creations. Just need the time to create them. My first one is using the basket of goodies that is stamped on white cardstock and then die cut with an ODBD Vintage die. Colored with several Copic markers and added some sparkle to the green sprigs. My designer paper is from the My Minds Eye Cozy Christmas paper pad and then die cut a matching poinsettia with the sparkly paper. A little faux stitching around the edges and finished it off with a few pearls and a flourished green sprig. Voila!

Day of good things

Happy Friday! The next 6 days are going to be days you do NOT want to miss. We are going to share with you the new Instant Garden Digi tomorrow and then five days of our new release called Happiest Holidays. Woot woot!!! Oh you are going to squeel when you see what we have been creating for you. So be sure to check back each day on the Power Poppy Blog for a list of everyone showing off new goodies for you.

Stamping time is a bit of a luxury anymore for me and I feel like I am losing my creative touch.  :-(  Guess I need to just work that much harder, right?!? We released a digi called Fall Haul a week or so ago and I finally got a chance to color it up. A very simple design today with some fence like designer paper in the background. However as I look at the finished card it is hard to tell that its a fence like paper. Ugh.. It was what helped me decide on colors, it is there I promise. Only a few scattered pearls and a heart die cut edge for the accents. Like I said easy peasy.

This fall creation is using So Grateful. I stamped the chair on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. A simple scored border around the edges was all for the base. Noel Masculine

The October Dirty Dozen Christmas theme is Paper Love, with a catch. You can check out the challenge HERE and hopefully play a long. This year I need a few more masculine cards so this challenge was going to be perfect.

I used this plaid like paper from My Minds Eye Cozy Christmas for the base layers over caramel and chocolate card stock. Used another piece of this CTMH hardware that I have had forever! Stamped the image from Joyful Arrangements and colored with Copic markers. Added chocolate ribbon to the base and finished it all off with stickles and pearls. Now... I know what you are thinking, pearls and masculine. I figure they are small enough they won't notice them? You think? ha ha ! Hope you can play along this month.
