Birthday Treats

Good morning! Today CardMaker Magazine and Taylored Expressions are teaming up for some bun and creations today. If you are just joining us head back over to the Taylored Expressions blog to start hopping. If you just came from
you are in the right place!

I am room mom to one of the twins class rooms every year. I like to create something special for each of the kids on their birthday and this Cute Hoot stamp set was perfect for the little treat bags I am doing this year. I ordered the darling little Sack It To You for this years treat bags. How fun is it that the Cute Hoot is a perfect accent to this bag? The matching die Curly Cute Hoot to this stamp set is awesome to boot. I am so excited about this set. This little swirly cue is a great addition to the sentiment tags. Voila!

What kid wouldn't want this little treat bag of goodies? hee hee

Serenity Bookmark

Here we are at our last day of November Sneak Peek Sets! Do you sometimes look at your blank sheet of card stock and think, “I wish there was a way I could warm it up or add some interest or texture without taking anything away from the main image? Or have you been longing to get your fingers inky and dabble in the mixed media craze? Well, we’re ready for you! Introducing...
SoDistressedGraphic
With Mixed Media all the rage, why not add a background set to your bag of creative tricks? This pattern and background set offers all kinds of images that can be used on their own, or as a way to add "texture" to your cards or creations. The options are endless! How about trying to layer these images for even more fun? This set measures 4" by 6".
Now anyone who stops by my blog knows that distressed, grunge or this mixed media stuff is just something I have a hard time with. I mean a clean and simple kinda girl just can't see her way through all the stuff... ha!   However today using So Distressed I have created for myself personally a new bookmark. And I LOVE it!  I stamped first in a pink ink the diamond shaped design in the set. Then using the circles in the set a creamy caramel ink over the top. I even then added some very very light yellowish of the smaller splashes in the set. My serenity prayer is from Anemones that I stamped onto the once Classic White card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Layered this panel onto some Color Made Easy Poppy and Rich Brown card stock. Used some of the Color Made Easy Poppy Baby Pink ribbon and some chocolate sheer ribbon that is tied off with a wooden button twine combo. I even distresed the edges and once corner of the bookmark. A little bit of stickles to the grundy background and voila!  See I can do grundge... Well sorta! ha ha
Our team loved getting inky with this clever set, so hop on over for some creative inspiration. And, while you’re hopping remember, we have one more day of….

True friends...

welcome to Day Two of November Sneak Peeks! Now that you’re all warm and cozy from our fantastic hot-beverage set yesterday, today we’re going to celebrate all that’s warm and special about friendship. Introducing….
Friendship&FlowersGraphic
This set, illustrated by Sam Pickard will send sunshine to any friend - near or far! With a beautiful pincushion flower at the center of this set, you'll find a beautiful butterfly and beautifully scripted sentiments add just the right touch. Set measures 4" by 6”. We think it has the perfect heartfelt friendship sentiments in it and we know you’ll love it!
Today my creation with the new set Friendship and Flowers is a card and bookmark combination. To the far right you see the bookmark that is attached to the card base itself. The recipient will be able to tear the bookmark off once they open their card. This is a standard A2 size creation. For the front of the card I have stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Classic White Card stock. Layered the sentiment oval panel onto a layer of Color Made Easy Pistachio that is die cut using Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals.
A lace trim layer underneath with some Color Made Easy Rich Browns card stock. A few flourished pearls for a splash of bling. My butterfly is colored with Copic Collections Buttercup and New Fields. I cut the butterfly out and popped up the wings after I added him to the front of the card. My bookmark has the larger sentiment length wise in the set stamped with a few of the flowers in Mellow Moss ink. Tied off the ribbon for the bookmark with some Color Made Easy Pistachio Iced Lime ribbon and a twine and Olive button combo. Voila!
The Design Team did a great job celebrating friendship with this set and we know you’ll be inspired. And, while you’re hopping and looking at their creations, don’t forget to try to figure out….

Each of them convey a real sense of warmth and will be perfect for any occasion you have with friends and family. Today’s set is one we’ve been anticipating with great excitement because we think it’s fabulous! Introducing….
GrabacupGraphic
Grab a cup and enjoy with this sweet-as-can-be coffee and tea inspired set. Use it to send warm thoughts across the miles or to invite a dear friend to share some time over hot drinks. This set, illustrated by Marcella Hawley measures 4" by 6" and offers three main images, four accent images and six mix and match sentiments! It celebrates everything coffee and tea should be!
My creation today is rather straight forward and easy peasy. I stamped the cup and daisy image from Grab A Cup onto Classic White card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink.
Colored with Copic Collections:

I have to say that the flowers are a lot more of a light pink in real life yet every photo they kept coming up brown like the cup?? So odd but its what it is. Added a bit of white lace trim under my Color Made Easy Sunflower panel and a few scatters jewels. Voila!

And look at what we’re also offering this month with this set...

I played my best for him....

Just got this last week called Little Drummer Boy. Isn't he just the sweetest image? Oh I adore this set and had to create something with him right away. I stamped the little drummer onto classic white card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored him with various Copic markers. I die cut him with Spellbinders ovals, then layered onto Opulent ovals. The background was created with one of the stamps in the set in ballet blue ink. Layered onto some kraft card stock. My sentiment is stamped onto some vellum with a few jewels for the corners. Voila!!!  Another Christmas card done as well. Have a great day.

WOJ November Magic

If you didn't know already then be surprised today! Whiff Of Joy is releasing their new Digi's today! That's right some of the images in the Fall and Winter kit are available in Digi format. Whohoo! I am still a stamp kinda girl as I have the secret kits, but YOU can have them now in Digi! Check out the store for all the new images!
My image is called Houdini Henry that I stamped on classic white card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with various Copic markers.
Since this guy is working some magic I thought the Good Luck Border Die-Light was perfect for a little background fun. Added some swiss dots embossing texture to my Claret card stock and matted onto black card stock. Voila! A magical card or a very cute card if anything. ha!
Your next stop is over to the Whiff Of Joy store!  Check out all the new Die-Lights released lately as well. Some FABULOUS ones to add to your collection. Have a great day!

FS353 Christmas Tree shopping

This weeks Featured Stamper 353 is Marion aka MR33634. Marion has a darling gallery and not to mention a very sweet person in all her love she leaves in peoples galleries. I choose her Mouse with Candy cane card to case. I kept some of the layout, a mouse image, Christmas and most of the layers. I changed the stamp, colors and some placement of the layout. I hope you get a chance to play along this week!
My image is from the Secret Winter kit that is stamped on classic white cardstock in Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with various Copic markers. Oh and before I forget to mention this... Nov 11th this image will be in Digi form. Whohoo!!!  Okay back to the card, I matted the image panel onto some Claret card stock with a little edge using the Tab Die-Light. Matted a layer of Kraft card stock over the Echo Park powder mountain designer paper. The corner has a fancy heart that I made using Romantic Swirls 2 Die Light with a Nested Flowers 2 Die Light with a magic dreams vintage brad center. Voila! Have a wonderful day!
