Welcome to Flourishes day 1 of sneak peeks. We are so excited to be back with a new round of beautiful stamps for you this August! Today's stamp set is a new offering from illustrator Sam Pickard and it showcases the unique blooms of the Chrysanthemum flower that is a staple for fall color and bouquets. This 4 x 6 set contains several arrangements of single or grouped flowers, a buzzing bee, plus wonderful sentiments around a sunshine theme. It's sure to bring wonderful cheerfulness to your designs on those crisp Autumn days that are coming. And for even more creative options, we'll have a cut-file available for this set as well on Friday.
Today for my sneak peek, I am going to show you a quick tutorial on a flip flop hanger using Chrysanthemums. Below are the supplies I used. the flip flop template is one I just goggled and saved to my computer, then in a Word document I changed the sizing to what I wanted. This is about 5 1/4 x 4 inches in size.
After I printed and cut out the the flop flip shape onto Classic White Cardstock I colored with Copic Collections:
After my flowers were colored I punched holes in a triangle form as you would see on flip flops for my ribbon which will be the hanger part. Below you see the holes and again I just eye balled the holes.
Now you thread your ribbon and I used Color Made Easy Crocus Lavendar ribbon through the holes leaving enough at the top to have for the hanger. Don't worry about the back as this will be covered.
Below you see the front with the excess ribbon threaded through. Now to add our colored backing.
My colors are the beautiful Color Made easy Crocus collection in a light lavendar and the darker richer purple. I really like these colors.
Now to finish decorating. The top of my ribbon hanger is tied off with some Ivory Jute and a Sunflower button. Some stickles was added to the flower petals and some flourished rhinestones around the sentiment.
Then I thught the little bumble bee in the set would be perfect for the center of the ribbon on the flip flop. Voila a sweet little summer hanger today.
