Rusted Flowers

**Don't forget my Exciting News Blog Candy Post found HERE**

Happy Friday and welcome to Flourishes August pre-release challenge! The month of August has rolled in and many of us are beginning to think ahead to Autumn (oh Summer, please stay a little longer!). How about we throw a fun color challenge at you that mixes Summer and Autumn colors together and challenge you to create something with the potential to WIN our August New Releases! Here are the colors: A lovely teal, a rich rust and a neutral gray. What we love about this challenge is that all of these colors can be found in our Flourishes Color Made Easy Collections. Emerald Coast, Terra Cotta and either Cool Neutrals or Tonal Neutrals, isn't that great?

Some of the Flourishes Design Team were blessed to be able to gather together just a few weeks ago in Yellowstone National Park for a wonderful weekend. We realized that there was some beautiful scenery right in front of us that matched the colors of our challenge this month, so we thought we'd show that off to you as well...

Beautifully colored mineral Ink Pots in just the right shades!
Today I have used Dahlia's that is stamped onto Classic White Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Colored with Copic Collections:

Simple layers today using Color Made Easy Terra Cotta and Cool Neutrals paper collections. I scalloped the one edge of the Terra Cotta and added a paper doily underneath my panels.

Scored the edges of the stripped designer paper from Echo Park Beautiful Life collection. A few hints of sparkle and a few of the My Minds Eye Oxford enamel dots. Voila!
Here is a close up of the flower pots as I tried for the first time the technique using the blender pen refill and some textures of a wash cloth. I do like how this looks although maybe should of done a bit more of it. I am still learning...  ;-)

Be sure to check out the creations from the design team:
