WOJ Winter Snowman hanger

It is the last day of the month and you know what that means? Time for the Whiff Of Joy Design Team Themed Project. This months theme is Christmas Decor. Head on over to the WOJ blog for all the Design Teams creations. Mine this month is a wall hanger for one of the boys teachers that collects snowmen. A woman after my own heart I tell you! :-) She will love this they have assured me. This is the hanger in its entire design. I have white poinsettia looking flowers using Die-Light Nested Flowers 2 as the hanger at the top and a blue vintage pearl brad for the center.
Here is a close up of the top frame. I tried to make the trees look like they had some snow drifts among them with general craft paint. A few Die Lights on this one such as Nested Christmas Trees and Nested Flowers 2. Some vintage pearl brads to the corner as well.
Here is the bottom frame with the darling snowman from the secret winter kit and Die Light Snowflake Festoon. My darling snowman called Hello Snowman that is a Digi format now with a background of Die Light Elegant Doily. The trees and the Snowman are two things you will see outside this month and I decorated my trees with snow and sparkle for the Dirty Dozen November Christmas Challenge. Hope you can play along this month.

WOJ Sneak Peek Ice Skating Fun

Today is Day 1 of Whiff Of Joy's December Sneak peeks! This adorable image is called Ice Skating Fun. How stinking cute, right? I have my image on Classic White card stock colored with various Copic Markers.

I die cut the circle with Spellbinders standard circles and scallop circles. My papers are kraft and Sky blue with some Designer Paper from Basic Grey 25th and Pine.  Added some white lace trim and seam binding ribbon that tied off my Die-Light Snowflakes Trio and Silent Night charm. I adore how this turned out and some of my favorite colors for holiday cards this year. Voila! Be sure to check back tomorrow for the DT Themed creations for November!

Topiarary greetings

Good morning? Are you stuffed from yesterday? Hopefully you had a wonderful day with family and friends. Today I have a card Christmas card for you.  Talk about not turning out quite like you picture a card in your head. This was way better if you could see my brain. ha!  I grabbed Holiday Topiaries and stamped my image onto Classic White card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Colored with Copic Collections:

Once colored I cut around the image, you could use the Silhouette File if you wanted. Added sparkles and dimensionals to the back of the panel cut out. Die cut the frame shape with Perfectly Pierced Classic Window die in Color Made Easy Poppy card stock. Added some designer paper layered onto Color Made Easy Pistachio and more Poppy card stock. Pierced around the edges to match the piercing on the die frame and voila. At least it is a flat rate mailer in the end.

Thanksgiving Proclamation

My sweet friend Grace posted on her blog today (See Below) and shared with us this message about Thanksgiving. I wanted to share this with you as well. Wow.... To think if we believed this way once again where we would all be. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Last Saturday, Grace's husband was at the Shiele Museum reenacting a Colonial Thanksgiving.  He will be a messenger (the means by which news was sent in the 1700''s)  sent to read the Proclamation of Thanksgiving given by then President George Washington.  She thought you might enjoy reading it because you won't find it in today's history books, nor will you hear it from our White House.

Oh how far we have fallen!

Thanksgiving Proclamation

Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789
By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”
Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangresions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.
Go. Washington

Ironing with Daisies

Good morning! I can honestly say that there is no flowers outside where I live right now. It is bitter cold at 10 degrees with a high of about 25 today. EEK! However sunshine on paper is pretty easy to create right now.  :-)  Head on over to the CardMaker Blog today and check out my tutorial on Ironing Ribbon with my Gerber Daisies card below.

Have a wonderful day!

Turtle Cheesecake Truffles

Good morning. I promised photos and the recipe for the Turtle Cheesecake Truffles I made this weekend. The recipe and notes will be below for you to copy and paste as you wish. I will say this they are DELISH and I am not that great with the photo's of presentation on larger items.  :-)
Here is the first batch below. I basically did half one way and half another. The ones on the left are ones that are rolled into balls of just the filling. The right side are the filling balls rolled in the nuts. I wanted some with the nuts on the inside and some with the nuts on the outside.
Here they are all rolled into balls. The pan got switched around when pulled out of the freezer so NOW the left side are the balls that were rolled in the nuts before freezing now covered in chocolate. The ones on the right are the ones that were just the balls of filling covered in chocolate and nuts added to the top. All of them are drizzled with melted caramel.

Not a great picture, sorry about that. This is one of the balls that was the filling rolled in nuts with the chocolate outside with the caramel on top. So you either get a ball with the nuts under the chocolate on the inside or the  nuts on the chocolate on the outside.
Turtle Cheesecake Truffles Recipe:
8 oz Cream Cheese
1 sleeve of Graham Crackers (finely ground)
8 oz semi sweet Ghiradhelli Chocolate Chips
1 Teaspoon vegetable oil
6 oz chopped finely pecans
1/2 bag Kraft melting caramel squares

Directions:
Combine your cream cheese (room temp) to the finely ground graham cracker crumbs in food processor. This will look almost like an almond paste consistency. Use a teaspoon and form the size balls you would like. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Place all the turtle balls into the freezer.

While these are freezing melt your chocolate in a double boiler with the vegetable oil and stir until melted. Take the balls out of the freezer and rolls in the melted chocolate and put back onto your cookie sheet. If you want the nuts on the inside you will roll them in your finely chopped nuts now and put on the cookie sheet. Back to the freezer they go.

While they are freezing once again you will melt your caramels. Unless you plan to really douse them in caramel you only need half the bag of caramels. You will only add half the water it requires for half the bag as well. Drizzle caramel over the top of each ball using a fork, and freeze one last time.

These are great if left out about 20-30 min before eating so they are a little soft. They can keep in freezer for about a week or so, but honestly I doubt they will last that long before they are all gone. HA!!  Enjoy!

Psalms through a 12 year old

Good morning! Yep I slept in today, what a wonderful feeling. Now I say slept in but do you know what time I got up? 6:30 and yes that is sleeping in for me. HA!  The boys have the week off from school for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday. We have a week planned of fun, games and just plain ole relaxing. We have needed a week like this.
I wanted to share (with permission from my son who wrote this) a Psalms he wrote for class. They are studying the book Psalms and were asked to write their own Psalms. This is one of the boys paper. I can say that I cried, but that is no surprise since I am rather sappy as they say. Yet I also said thank you Lord! For these boys are such a blessings to me and my husband. With all we have gone through the last few months and the difficulties you wonder if you are doing a good job as a parent. You think you are, you hope and pray you are, then you see something like this.  ;-)   Makes your heart swell and just thank God for his guidance and grace through it all. They get it and man... that is the greatest feeling ever! They are wonderful boys and are rising to all the challenges they are given and I know that God is with them the entire time. From this I know that they KNOW he is with them the entire time as well.
I hope that you have a wonderful week with family and friends this Thanksgiving Season. I will be back tomorrow to share with you a recent new recipe of Turtle Cheesecake Truffles that I made. Its a combo of two recipes into one and I will share with you photos and the recipe. Until then have a wonderful day!

FS355 Sweet Days ahead

This weeks Featured Stamper 355 is Julie aka stampinjewelsd. What a gallery! Oh I wanted to case this one, and this one and this one as I was scrolling through. ha ha!  However I like the colors and feel of Under The Weather so I cased this one. I kept similar colors, some of the design and umbrella focus. I changed the stamp, some of the sketch and added ribbon.

This adorable mouse is called Lady Henrietta that is stamped onto classic white card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with Copic markers. The fun accent under the ribbon is the Die-Light Umbrella Border and one of the punch outs from the die is added to the Die Light Sweet Tag with Hearts. Tied off a pretty ribbon bow and voila! Have a wonderful day!

We R Memory Keepers Blog HOp

CardMaker designers are playing today with We R Memory Keepers newest punch boards. If you are just joining us head back over to the CardMaker Blog to start hopping.

If you just came from Rosemary's Blog you are in the right place.

Talk about a fabulous tool to have in your craft room! I received the Gift Box punch board and created a tea gift set. Here is the card and gift box together. I added decorated paper to the sides and top of the box that is in standard Kraft card stock.

Here is the box open with the tea bags inside and some more of the doily taped to the inside. There is about 9 teabags in this box which fits quite a few. My card had the matching paper doily and sentiment from Friendship and Flowers stamp. The shape of the sentiment panel is from Perfectly Pierced Classic Window die. A butterfly added to the sentiment panel and some jewels.

Here is the box closed with some ribbon and a butterfly to the center. I adore the fact that at my finger tips I now can create just about any size gift box I need based off measurements and a few cuts. How cool is that? A must have for all stamping rooms I think.  ;-)  Voila!

Now hop back on over to CardMaker Blog or head on over to We R Memory Keepers Store to purchase the Gift Box Punch board or any of the other new releases! Happy shopping and hopping!

Hot cocoa anyone?

Today we bring you another round of inspiration created with our brand new November Release Stamp sets from the Senior Design Team. We had so much fun with them we just could not stop making cards! It’s our chance to show them off at least one more time while you can still purchase the November Stamp Bundle at a discount! Today is the last day the discount is available and we don’t want you to miss out!

Too cute right? When I first saw Grab A Cup I thought the little circle cup looked like buttons. Thought this would make for a cute snowman to wrap a package of hot cocoa up. I created the snowman using Spellbinders Circles cut out using Classic White card stock that are layered on top of each other. Then wrapped some Color Made Easy Poppy card stock around the hot cocoa packet. I had some left over Silhouette Handmade Snowflakes that are embossed with silver left over from a project that is the backing on the side.

The hat is taking our Perfectly Pierced Window die in Classic Black card stock and cutting off just below one of the curves. Added a scarf with some Color Made Easy Poppy Rancho ribbon and voila. I think it turned out cute and great for the kids in the class.
Be sure to check out creations from the design team today:

Princess Birthday hop

Today is a special day for the Flourishes Family to celebrate our Birthday Girl - Julie Koerber!  And Julie is definitely worth celebrating!  She’s the right hand on so many levels of what’s beautiful about Flourishes, and we’re so grateful for her and blessed to also call this lovely lady friend.

This summer a number of the Flourishes Senior Design Team girls gathered for a weekend in Yellowstone National Park.  It was a fantastic time of fun!  One of the great things some of the girls did was go Whitewater Rafting.  Because there were family members along, Julie graciously said she’d sit in the middle of the raft so the kids could get the most out of the experience.  The raft guide however thought that would be a fun opportunity to tease Julie about her “Princess" status.  She gracefully took it and we love to tease her about it - and so the idea for this Princess Birthday Hop was born!  Julie we love you and your fun, spunky spirit, and also the warmth and grace you live your life with!  Happy Birthday from all of us at Flourishes!

~ ~ ~Julie you are such a sweet and dear friend. I love you dearly girlie! I know God brought us together for a reason and I am so very thankful for our friendship. Biggest hugs sweet friend! Happy Birthday! ~ ~ ~

I used Make A Wish for my creation and used the Spellbinders Opulant Ovals as it looks like the raft shape we were on. hee hee  Kidding..... I stamped the crown for Miss Julie onto classic white card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. A few highlights with Copic B00 and RV00 to the crown. Some prima's my friend Pat made me and some flourishes jewels for bling. Voila!

We invite you to hop along today with many of our Flourishes Family to see our pretty Princess and Birthday inspiration, and join in on our wishes for Julie!
Comment along the way and you could be entered to win any Birthday set of your choice from the Flourishes Store!  Winners will be chosen and announced on Saturday November 23rd on the Flourishes Blog.

And don’t forgot to drop by Julie’s place to send her your Happy Birthday wishes too!

Campfire n Smores

Tried to get some down time in and stamp today. Not quite sure this turned out like I thought it would in my head.  :-(  This is a discontinued stamp (sorry) called Campfire Fun from Whiff Of Joy. I added some Die-Lights Nested Christmas Trees behind my image to make it feel like he is in the forest. I sponged the trees with forest green ink for a textured look. I think the whole pine cone designer paper is what is throwing this all off. Hhhmmm... Back to the drawing board. HA!!!  Hope you have a great day!

Topiary Greetings

Good morning! I don't know about you but that was an AWESOME game last night. Manning was great and the Broncos were awesome. Great win for Denver. Now onto Patriots Sunday.... EEK!!! Okay enough about my second favorite team.  :-)
I tried for the first time the Side Spring card for my card today using Holiday Topiaries. Fun fold, very different and rather fun to try. I stamped the topiary onto Classic White card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink.
Colored with Copic collections:

Once colored I cut around the image and added some dimensionals to pop up the image on the diamond fold. My card stock is from Color Made Easy True Blue and Rich Browns. Added some scrap designer paper and voila! Easy Peasy today. Have a wonderful day.
