Birthday rose

Morning. Do you ever get really frustrated with your camera and want to scream? Well I am of late I a because for the life of me I can't seem to get this card and another one to come out non blurry. Checked and rechecked the camera settings to make sure they weren't "off" somehow and nothing. What is the deal.... I finally said forget it and just took the best one that I thought was less blurry. Bare with me please.  :-(

This rose is called Vital Rose from the Instant Garden collection at Power Poppy. My sweet and talented friend Leslie is who inspired me with the shades of purple for this rose. Check out her gorgeous rose HERE. You will not be dissapointed I tell you.
I knew that I was going to cut the rose out, so it is printed on the larger side. I colored with various Copic markers then cut around the edges so that I could pop it up on dimensionals. A few decorative die cuts for the layers from an older Spellbinders die. Some purple designer paper for the base layer and the added white decorative layer. A pearl to finish it off, Voila!

Abundant birthday wishes

My card today did not turn out quite like I had pictured in my head. Not that I don't like how it turned out but I just pictured it differently. Anyways... I stamped a few of the flowers from Abundant Petals onto a strip of white paper and colored with copic markers.

Then I added my sentiments from a retired stamp set and added suduko gel pen to the letters. It is hard to see in the photo's and looks much better in real life. I did take the picture at an angle for you to see below. A simple scalloped edge to the bottom and then added to the base layers. Easy, simple and yet still doesn't look like I had planned. Another birthday card done but this one is getting mailed out soon so not for the stash.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Have an AWESOME day!

Sage birthday wishes

Grabbed the stamp set Sage Advice for my creation. My designer paper was from a stack that the page is missing so I can't tell you what it was from. It was my color inspiration as it has some greens and pinks and caramel colors I liked.

My herbs are colored with various Copic markers. Before I finished the layers for the main panel I too my watercolor brush with some caramel ink and flicked the brush so that splatters would be around the image. I like the subtle look and plan to do this more often... if I remember that is. Layered the base with some ribbons and lace trims. A few buttons with twine for the corner of the image a panel and then my sentiment for the other. Voila!

Bottle of prayers

Morning with a quick bottle of prayers card today. The papers did all the work for this card which was rather cool. I pulled out the paper pack called Vintage Ephemera from ODBD and then started my card. For some reason the die that matches this set is missing from my dies. Gosh knows where it went so I had to cut around the sentiment and then layer it onto card stock. Which wasn't hard to do but I can't find that die now which is making me curious. Anyways...

I added a few pearls to the lace trim on the paper and then die cut a flower from the Bitty Blossoms die for the corner accent. Voila! Super easy peasy and I like the warm feeling. Thanks for stopping by today.

Mojo 509 Love and mice

Happy Monday. The current Mojo sketch 509 is up on Julee's blog.
Now I will admit when I saw this sketch I was a bit puzzled on what I was going to do. I really wanted to color up some mice lately so I shuffled through my retired sets from Whiff Of Joy and found these darling guys.

They look so happy don't they? hee hee  The mice are colored with various Copic markers and then die with a simple circle for the sketch. Stamped some of the extras in the set for the panel piece. Look closely at the girl mouse. Gasp!! She is wearing a tank top essentially... She is so modern these days. bahahaha... Just means that I need to bring these out more often to remember what I am coloring. ha! Anyways a little bit of texture to the base panela nd added sparkle to the grapes and wine to finish it off. Voila!

Blooming wonderful sale ladies...

Happy Saturday! Marcy has a weekend stamp steal sale going on with these delightful stamp sets. Check out Blooming Wonderful and Winter Pick Me Up

I stamped the image from Bloomin wonderful onto white card stock and colored based on the designer paper and scrap paper I choose before I started. These colors turned out wonderful I think. The sketch was sort of a combo between two different previous cards I have made and I combined them. Not bad but it was all I could think of at the time. Added some sponging to the sentiment circle and some textures to the green panel behind. A few pearls and sparkles to finish it off. Voila!
Hope you have some time to stamp this weekend. Have a great day.

Penciled Rose with quote

Good morning and happy Friday. Marcy released a beautiful new digi from the Instant Garden called Vital Rose which can be purchased and printed now! :-) My watercolor colored pencils skills needed some more polishing so I thought this rose would be perfect. And I would say, I need some more polishing yet. ha ha  Water coloring with ink or pencils or whatever just seems to evade me, but I keep plugging along and keep at it. Eventually I will come around, right? Anyways... This rose is awesome any color  medium you choose I would say.

The quote around the rose is colored with a light blue pencil and then water colored over just as the rose. Wonder if a darker blue would of made it stand out more, maybe next time. Just a little texture for the base layer with some swiss dots. Wrapped a little bit of sheer black ribbon and then added the flower base. The petals do have some sparkle and a few sequins as usual.  :-)
