Popping in blue

Happy Friday! Our little break from sports and activities is officially over. We not only are in AAU Basketball, but the HS coach asked if the boys would be willing to come to a quarterback and running back training once a week. We were not sure if the boys wanted to play football in high school but since the coach was asking that sort of sealed the deal.  ;-)  They started last Sunday and what a training camp! It is put on by a few former NFL players and a training company that works with the HS in the summer at a camp they attend. Needless to say it is super cool and they loved the first week. They might be the only 8th graders in the bunch of 60 boys, but they are just as tall and big as most of them so they fit in perfect. Then of course all the basketball practices... it is fast and furious once again. They are happy and busy so I guess all is good?!?!  Mom is a little tired but hey, that is what keeps me young. LOL Anyways....

Have you checked out the Power and Spark challenge yet this month and played along? It is found HERE with the link list so we can see your creation. I was in a color mood of blue hues and went with it. I stamped out the beautiful Poppies onto white cardstock for my creation.

I colored the blooms with various Copic markers and a simple scored border around the edge. Added a faux stitching to the designer paper and wrapped some crochet lace and ribbon tied into a bow. Final touches of course is the scattered pearls and some sparkle. Very simple design and just what I needed! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We have a double header tomorrow for the boys basketball, wish them luck!

Oh, Stacy, what exciting news about the boys! And how wonderful to be asked to join this group of high school guys and have it put on by some former NFL players - that's a fabulous opportunity! But, yes, I'm praying for mom to have the energy to keep up! And I know it will keep you young - hehe! Now, this card is gorgeous!!! I too (like Tricia) love the beautiful layout and your gorgeous coloring, and your embellishments are fabulous. And your "signature" lace and ribbon are stunning - along with your faux stitching. I love it all and love this beautiful poppy image!! Stunning, sweet friend, and praying for you all with this busier schedule! Hugs!

Love those beautiful blue poppies and your sweet design with the ribbon and polka dots. Simple gets the card done when you're busy with other things. And you do sound busy! It will last through their HS years and then some.

Beautiful coloring and fabulous card.
How wonderful both boys are equally talented, and what an opportunity to train with pros. My boys would have been thrilled.

This is beautiful Stacy. I love how pretty and unexpecte the blue poppies look. So fun to hear how well the boys are doing. You’re right - a coach’s ask totally takes it up a notch :)
